Was lucky enough to find one of these online. Shipping was fast. Setup and loading were dead easy. Worked several hours with no issues whatsoever. At one point I thought I had a jam, but on closer inspection, I'd accidentally tried to nail directly into an already-placed nail head. Flipped the jam clearing lever and resumed nailing, no problem. Indispensable. Best power tool I've owned.
waited for the season to be over before I wrote a review on this one. bought this with the intention of small jobs no problem. what i found was the unbelivable ability. ended up buying several and they did all the work this season, bigger battery and never change it till end of day. if you think the weight of it or putting a bigger battery in it is a problem, don't worry, roofing will make ya tired without blaming the nailer lol. we run bostich nails tru it and maybe 1 or 2 nail jams per big box, which is expected. personally i like the fact that i can set it down on the roof and it don't slid off. rougly 225 square of shingles down with 2 of them, buddies ask to barrow mine all the time nowadays. get a chance to buy it , buy it wont go wrong.
I I absolutely love this Nailer there no cords to get tangle in it makes it so I feel free and not weighed down when I speed nailing and pretty durable since I dropped it off the roof twice the only bad thing is if it would had a hose I probably would of caught it one of the two times
I had a repair to do about a square and a half worked great no hose or compressor to deal with. Did have a jam when it hit another nail was easy to clear out. Would recommend
I used this nailer to put up privacy fence pickets. It did a great job for the most part, much faster than having to do by hand. Would have given 5 stars but it jams with wire quite a bit, it's a quick fix popping it open and snipping the extra wire, but still an aggravation. Overall it did what I wanted it to with very little trouble.
Shot a coil through it yesterday straight out of the box. It jams about every 5-7 nails. I have the framer and 15ga. Love them both. This one not so much
The tool itself is built nicely, it feels solid with not much plastic besides the coil holster. As always with Dewalt tools, it's a bit on the heavier side. I was using it for cement board for tile work and this nailer did not want to cooperate. It would stove pipe very often. If it did shoot a nail it wouldn't set it in much more than a half inch. I really wanted this to work. Looks like I'll be sticking to a hammer and nail.
Wasn't delivering
I had great hopes for the DeWalt cordless roofing nail gun. Having done quite a few roofs I was excited about the possibilities that this product presented. At first it was fairly good, consistent placement and decent cycling of the nails. The gun is a little heavy but well worth the weight considering the lack of air line and compressor. After a couple hundred nails I experienced my first nail jam. Not a big deal and easily fixed. Then as I used the gun more, the jams increased. These jams were not nails getting lodged but the actual pin getting stuck out of the gun. It was not retracting the pin. Eventually, the pin went back and off its track and wouldn't fire at all. After a half an hour tearing the gun apart, I found the immediate problem, reset the pin and continued using the gun. After a couple dozen nails, I would reset the jammed pin. Repeat, repeat repeat… I tried blowing out the gun, cleaning the track, even using a modified tooth brush to try and clean it. Less than 7000 nails through the gun. I hope I received a bad example of this product because I really want it to be awesome. However, my gun is absolutely, frustratingly, faulty and not worth my time or yours. I will be returning this product asap
I bought this 6 weeks ago. It never worked right. I laid maybe 15 squares with it. The hammer would get jammed forward constantly. The next nail in the coil would hold it down. Yesterday a piece broke off inside the tip and it started tumbling nails. Today I returned it.
