DEWALT XTREME 12V MAX Brushless 2-Tool Combo Kit (DCK221F2) – Compact Drill/Driver and Impact Driver, Batteries, Charger and Bag Included

These are great tools for smaller projects. I keep mine in our sign construction room and these work well for simple smaller projects where a 20v would be over kill. They are super light, I forgot I had one on my belt hook they are so light. But their weight and size doesn't mean they are weak. They have great torque and when parried with the larger amp battery they have a decent run time as well.

The XTREME 12V MAX combot kit is the perfect combination of power, weight, and price in my opinion. The impact driver can effortlessly send 3in+ screws into hardwoods without bogging down. It also features a very hand, very bright ring light around the chuck for seeing what your doing. The compact size makes it perfect for installation work in cramped spaces. The "screw" setting also works great for keeping fasteners from stripping out, especially the cheap screws most fixtures and appliances come with. As for the drill it's also great at getting into small spaces. It is a little anemic with the included 2AH battery but if you use for example a 5AH battery it can really put out some torque and speed. The drill also features a light located on the bottom near the battery attachment point that is angled to shine where you're trying to drill. Overall I'm quite impressed with the XTREME 12v drill and driver. They are a great answer to competitors 12v compact lines, DeWalt came out swinging so to speak. Also, the batteries being fully compatible with 20v chargers makes adopting a new battery format a lot easier especially if you already have DeWalt 20v chargers.

I have used these continually for many years. The only thing replaced has been the batteries from years of charging and dropping the tool on the job. I wont get another brand. I have used others but prefer my 'Mello Yellow' dependable tools.

Got these a few months back and have already come in very handy around the house. Very portable.

Use the 12V's exclusively in our fabrication dept. Being a Master Glazier by trade, they work extremely well for us in the fab dept. When dealing with Aluminum Extrusions, the 12V's perform flawlessly. We use them because of the lower torque requirements needed, so screws don't strip the aluminum. We use a lot of “Self tapping” and “Type F” screws, and the 12V's are perfect. Using 20V's for fabrication is overkill. You cannot hand a 20V to an Apprentice and expect them to not strip out a screw spline, or strip the attachment screws. Also, the lighter weight is a bonus when fabricating all day, sure, batteries don't last as long as 20V's, but when you have to run 300+ screws a day, not wearing yourself out, and not stripping a single tapped hole, changing batteries a little more often is worth their weight in Gold. We have tried others, Rigid, Kobalt, Harbor Freights line, and none of them are in use, but, our 10+ year old 12V Dewalts still run, all day every day. The newer models are extremely reliable, and the shorter bodies allow us to get onto places that were previously unavailable. Highly recommended the 12V line for anyone in the trades who uses cordless drills/impacts on a daily basis, just have an extra battery or 2, your arms and shoulders will thank you at the end of a hard work week.

little small but great tools

I've had this combo kit for 3 years now. The drill and impact both work amazing. I've taken bolts out with the impact that I never thought it would be able to remove. I got them for a great price too. I was surprised how long the smaller batteries last.

I opened the box last night, pressed the trigger button, then it did half a spin and shut off. I put it to charge, and still seems like the battery isn't charged after letting it charge all night. Haven't been able to use it at all. What a waste of money.

Brand new purchase. After using this a couple of times the driver has become very annoying. On a fully charged battery it will rotate for perhaps 3 seconds and then stop. It may restart and then stop again. What's more I took the driver to Colombia to use over there . Disappointed. And I have many Dewalt tools, this has been a let down.
