Awesome loft bed. Like the 2 ladders. Took about 2 1/2 hours to assemble by myself. Couple pointers. Pay close attention to the ladders orientation and part J. Also, order some grip tape for the ladders, they are super slippery with socks on. Other than that I would say this is a solid built piece. The height under the bed is about 60 inches. The desk sits a little high so plan on a height adjustable chair.
We ordered a more expensive bed from Home Depot first, but we were not happy with it - so we sent it back and ordered this bed. My 10 year old son loves it! This one was much less expensive and we all like it better. Win/Win.
I found this in very good price and a good quality for the price that I paid easy to put it together. I will recommend her to anybody to purchase my grandson. Loved it. He is 15.
The bed arrived 3 days earlier than expected. It took 2 of us 2 and a half hours to put together (make sure you're putting the right sized screws in the right places). It does shake a bit when I get up there but of course I'm an adult so that's to be expected. My 6 year old son LOVES it, it's very story for him. Now I just have to get his t.v. up higher LOL GREAT BUY!
I bought this for my thirteen year old son's birthday. It is great and he thinks it is awesome. Very sturdy. Took two people several hours to put together, but has step by step instructions. All the pieces are metal so there are lots of allen wrech type bolts to connect it together. Agree with other reviews wish the top of the ladders had a bigger opening, but it works. My son is 5'7" and can't stand completely straight underneath, but when seated at the desk feels very roomy. All the slats that run across the part for the bed are metal and spaced every few inches so feels very secure there as well. Perfect teenage/college bed.
My daughter is in 4th grade and needs more quiet study time lately. She has asked for a desk in her room so she could do so. Due to our small bedrooms, this was just not possible, so we started looking into loft beds. There were web sites selling them for minimum of $1500! We thought maybe we would try Walmart ... much to our surprise, we found this great set for under $300! The bed arrived quickly and we used Site to Store pick-up. The associates were nice enough to help us load it in our Honda CRV ... it fit tightly but it fit! When we got home, we took the pieces out of the box to bring them into the house. My husband and I took about 2 1/2 hours to assemble the bed. The instructions were a bit hard to understand and a couple of times, we had to back up a step, but otherwise it went together easily. My only complaint with this bed, is that they didn't list on the web site (that I saw, anyway), that it can't accomodate a good quality mattress. My daughter already had a nice full sized bed with a Simmons Beauty rest pillow-top mattress. The mattress comes right to the top of the safety railings on the bed. As I was SUPER worried about the safety of this, we got out one of the rails that we had used (Safety 1 brand) from when she transitioned out of the crib into the "big girl" bed. Thankfully Grandma and saved these at her house and we just had to go get them. Tonight is my daughter's second night in the bed and she loves it! She has re-organized her room and has asked for some filing cabinets to put under the desk to store some of her things. This will be possible due to the nice price from Walmart.com. We even noticed that the price went down $30.00 between the time we placed the order and when we picked it up. All it took was one phone call to Walmart.com and the refund was in our Paypal account within a matter of a couple of hours! Overall a great experience and a great product!
The loft bed is great for saving space and still sleeping on a big bed. It is the most stable one I saw during my brief research (Ikea ones were very shaky). It is really close to the ceiling and I hit my hands every night while tossing and trying to move the blanket but I knew how tall it was when I bought it. I do not recommend to couples - havent tried it and dont intend to. It does shake and squeak a bit but it is not too bad. If you go to the bathroom often you need a different solution.
This is very tall, so not good for low ceiling. Assembly was a bit difficult as some of the holes didn't match up well, but did go together with some slight turning and extra helping hands. It's super nice with the deak and cork board underneath, very sturdy once properly assembled and tightened. Would recommend.
This bed is what we expected. My 5' 0, 11 year old loves the added space to her room. It's a little difficult for her to climb ladder but it's manageable. It does shake very little when getting on and off but not bad and is safe. It wasn't difficult to put together but does take time. One person with an occasional assistance is all needed. Our ceiling height is 8'7" and is workable. We did get the Spa memory foam mattress and works great.
I bought this bed because I live in a 400sq, foot studio apartment and really wanted some more space. Putting it together was difficult because I had to use an Alan wrench so the screws sucked and couldn't use a power drill and also, the directions were not super clear and the labeling on the parts were not that great. But I figured it out after a long time. All In all I love the space, it gives me and I hope it works out for me in the long run as far as holding up my mattress and myself up. I'm a college student, the bed is sturdy enough for my temporary use, and it slightly wiggles when u climb up it. I have average ceilings so when the bed is put together I have 2 feet from the ceiling so it's a little tight to squeeze but hope I get used to it. But like I said it's temporary for me as I finish up school but recommend only if you have tall ceilings to avoid clostrophobia and make sure the person using the bed does not weigh a lot because the weight limit says 300lbs. This would be a great bed for kids but also adults too like me in a small apartment.
