Great inexpensive loft bed for a 10 yr. old boy. Assembly took approximately 2 hours with two people. The bed looks great with a small couch underneath. We did not anchor our bed to the wall, however, it does move slightly when climbing up/down. This doesn't seem to bother my son at all. My only problem is that my daughter now wants the same bed!
Purchased for my son 2 months ago. So far so good. Him and I (mom) had it put together in a little over an hour. For the price I paid (around $130) I'd say this was a great deal. The bed itself is nothing to get super thrilled over, but you get what you pay for and it's serving the intended purpose so I can't say anything negative. I may get some pipe insulator or pool noodles and cut them to size to go around the ladder steps as they are uncomfortable to step on but that's really it. It's not overly squeaky but it's not totally silent either. With normal rolling over there is minimal noise. So far seems sturdy, all pieces were included so thankfully no issues with assembly.
This bed took abou 2-3 hours or two of us to put together but had good instructions and once together seems very sturdy with little squeaking or wobbling. It's the perfect additional to my preteen daughter's "lounge" and perfect for watching tv and/or extra guests! However, it is very tall so make sure your ceiling height is adequate. Check the measurements first. We will have to remove our ceiling fan in that room because the bed is that high.
I bought this bed to upgrade my 11 year old son to a full size bed and because he always wanted a loft bed. I chose this bed because our ceilings are only 8' high and this bed fit nicely into his room with about 2' to spare. Other beds I found on line for shorter ceilings were around $1500! For this price, you can't beat it! It's been great so far. My only issues are, like other reviews, the bed does squeak when you are in it. But it is a very sturdy bed. I slept in it one night with absolutely no complaints! Also, the ladder steps need some sort of cushioning. Perhaps it's not too tough on tiny feet, but when I climbed them it was murder! The other issue is the package arrived with no assembly instructions. Once I realized that, I went back to walmart.com and downloaded the instructions that were under the product description. Once I started putting it together, I realized these were outdated instructions because some of the pieces were no longer part of this bed and the labels on the parts did not match the labels on the instruction diagram. So about a fourth of the way into the assembly I had to break it down and start over. After that, everything went together smoothly. If this bed holds up, as I suspect it will, I would highly recommend it! Walmart, just supply the updated instructions in the packaging!
Surprisingly, was easy to assemble. Working out well so far. Love the extra space it gives. My daughter has a pretty big room, but lots of "stuff". This works out so well, she has all her Barbie stuff set up underneath (which is a lot, they have as much or more as she does). Love that it is full sized so we could use same mattress and she has as much sleeping room. She has a dresser, a chest of drawers, and a good sized chair in her room, yet still so much open floor space. Seems to be pretty sturdy so far. Very pleased at this time. Arrived quickly too.
I spent hours researching the best option for me. This bed is well made and easy to assemble with one person. Some plastic parts but still a solid unit. Great price and value. I am an adult so the ladder is inconvenient so I use a step ladder to make it easier to get in and out of. Like other reviewers said,, it does wobble a little when you enter and exit but nothing major. Great space saver.
We had 2 full beds for the kids so I set it over each other and added curtains to the bottom. My kids love it. Its their camp and play house. It was easy to install and seems relatively stable.
This bed was for a short 10 year old and she is pretty happy. We purchased a 4.5 sofa bed memory foam mattress and it also has another 1 memory foam topper on it that we already had. This keeps the mattress comfy, light and low profile. This bed went togetehr smoothly. Directions were good and it came with extra screws/brackets etc if you needed one. (Which we did! We cracked one rail cap and we stripped one screw!) The reason for 4 stars is because the ladder is a KILLER for feet and climbing vertically is brutal. We just purchased an add on ladder intended for camper bunk beds that is angled with flat step/bars which makes the world of difference!! The bed does creak a bit when she moves up there but it does not yet make me concerned about its safety. We will check it monthly for loose screws just to be sure!
When I ordered this, even though going back though and seeing that it does say Full, I didnt know it was a full. The picture shows a twin, and thats what I thought I was getting. Yes. My fault. I got it home and put it together with the help of my fiance. This is a two or more person put together bed. It took up most of the room, but made alot more room in there for my 6 year old son. Bit bigger then expected though.... its do-able. My son loves it. We have his tv and chair under there so he can watch movies in his "Own little space" and not be bothered. :) Im glad he likes it. Its a bit wobbly but as I see from the other reviews, a few screws can fix that. Im not picky. He feels like a big boy with the upper bunk on there, thats all that matters to me. :D BTW its not silver, its grey. And again.... it is alot bigger then expected. Im 5'4" and this bed is atleast 3 inches taller then me.
Only 2 problems. It is so close to the ceiling that my daughter has to army crawl into bed. Also, she can't sit up or stretch or she will touch the ceiling. We couldn't use our regular mattress (9 inches), we had to buy a bunk mattress of lesser quality so that it is 6 inches or less. I guess we should have done our research regarding size. So if you have taller than average ceilings, and you are buying a new mattress anyway, then I had no other problems. It is of good quality and easy to assemble.
