I ordered the Diamond Crystal Bright %26 Soft Water Softener Salt Pellets because they were more affordable than other brands and recommended by the company that installed our whole house water softener system. The product was delivered promptly with no issues, and the sturdy 40 lb. bags held up well during handling, no rips or mess. I also appreciated the easy-to-tear spot on the bag that made pouring the heavy salt pellets into the reservoir much more manageable. Everything about this product has been convenient and reliable. I will definitely continue using it.
I was skeptical at first. The whole "pellet vs rock" debate feels like a salt-laden version of the great pizza topping war. One side swears by raw rock, the other preaches pellet purity. In the end I just wanted something that wouldn't melt into a glittery mess and that would actually fit in my softener without a backstage pass. These 40-lb pellets slide right in, no drama, no extra cleaning ritual. The real show-stopper, however, is the bag itself. It comes with a sturdy handle on both ends, like a set of twin lanyards for a very heavy, very salty backpack. I can lift the whole sack with one hand, flip it over with the other, and still have enough grip to keep it from rolling into the dog's water bowl. No extra charge for the double grip, just pure convenience. Installation was a breeze. I opened the bag, poured the pellets into the softener reservoir, and the bag stayed neatly coiled like a well-behaved snake. The handles make it feel like I'm holding a pair of tiny, industrial dumbbells - satisfying and oddly motivating. No fiddly loose rock that slides around and disappears behind the washer. The pellets are uniform, bright, and look like tiny snowballs, which makes the whole thing look cleaner than a lab coat. Ease of use is another win. When the softener runs low, I just grab the bag by one handle, tilt it, and pour. The second handle acts as a stopper; I can press it against the edge of the reservoir to keep the bag from tipping over. It's the kind of thoughtful design that makes me wonder why other brands don't add a handle on each side for free. The bag also folds nicely for storage, and the handles don't snag on the shelf. Appearance? Bright white pellets in a clear bag that shows off the salt like a showcase of tiny diamonds. The handles are a contrasting navy, giving the bag a sporty, ready-for-action vibe. It looks like something a professional chef would use for a gourmet brine, not a laundry room. Overall, whether you pledge allegiance to rock or pellets, this bag makes the whole softening process feel like a well-engineered, double-handed dance. Five stars for the handles, the easy pour, and the fact that I never have to wrestle a bag of jagged rock again.
But quality salt
I went out to my water softener to add more salt and I almost had a heart attack because there was a brown frothy substance at the top and I thought I had a problem. I wiped it away with a paper towel and saw my water was dirty. when I opened the bag of salt I saw how dirty the salt was! problem solved! I do not recommend this product apparently all the bags of salt were dirty my daughter added the other ones and didn't bother to look! so unless you want your water and your water purifier to look like this I do not recommend it at all!
The same exact bags I have been buying from other places but the "pellets" look more like crystal chunks and they are dirty looking. The water in the softener looks dirty also. I'm told I should return them, not sure if I can. Water looks dirty too.
I'm almost 70 years old and can barely lift the 40 pound bags to begin with but when they were delivered, I was very disappointed because the bags are absolutely filthy. The delivery driver brought them into my garage But now I have to carry them through the house and down the basement stairs. I'm not too happy about the condition of the bags.
Beware when buying this salt from Walmart all three bags that I received the salt was dirty and were not pallets probably an old batch laying around typically when I get these they are nice round bright white pellets, not rocks Second picture is a comparison to the white salt that I had previously and the salt that I almost put in today now I gotta get these dirty pieces out. I'm glad I didn't fill it all the way up.
received only 1 of 4
I ordered two bags and only received one.
They made my water softener system extremely dirty because the salt rocks were dirty looking. I had to empty my entire system and clean/scrub it out, I purchased 3 bags and had to throw away 2 of them.
