Very durable pants and it's nice to have a few color choices.
The Dickie Canvas Carpenter Jeans are well made from strong canvas fabric, triple stitching, and rivited pockets. I have owned several pairs of these in the past. They tend to shrink, and therefore, it is better to order a slightly larger/longer size than other types of pants. The canvas jeans cost me about $30 a pair. I cut off the loop on the side of the right leg because that loop tends to get caught on door knobs or anything extending. Because they shrink, I need to have them shortened until they are washed multiple times. Unfortunately, the hemming of the pants cost me about $18 a pair.
I'm liking the triple stitching and hoping for a durable pair of jeans from Dickies here. Material seems slightly thinner than i would of expected but I have confidence Dickies will have got this right. the fit is exactly as you would expect , so buy in confidence your regular size.
I really like these pants. They are durable, inexpensive, and above all, comfortable. Much more so than regular jeans. The "carpenter" style is fuller cut in the legs, which means for work or general wear there is not binding or tugging at trouser legs when kneeling or squatting. Yeah, this makes them a little baggy in appearance, but I could care less. The Dickies carpenter jeans have become my favorite daily wear. They are very stiff when new, but a couple of washings takes care of that. Highly recommended.
These are the only pants my husband wears for work. He works outdoors and these pants last him a long time. They've lasted through many hot washes, extreme weather, and extreme terrain. My husband likes the relaxed fit, they're comfortable and very easy to move around in. Many pockets to hold his tools or equipment in, including his cell phone. I have to order his size online, since our local store rarely has his size available.
If you set aside the change in fabric from the old fabric and the fact that the hand pocket openings are smaller then usual, they are well put together and would be good to use I guess, I just cannot get over the change in fabric, they are not the same as the once were.
For some reason, when the carpenter jeans are in any color other than denim, the side pocket is narrower. My phone (in its protective case) doesn't quite fit in the narrow pocket, which is a shame, because that's why I liked these pants in the first place.
Bad review isn't Walmart's fault. Shipping took 10 days. Ordered 34” waist and they're definitely 32”. This isn't the first time they've been way off and the Dickies site has a lot of reviews saying the sizing is all over inconsistent. Too bad because I've had a dozen of these and want to buy a bunch more. Clearly their supplier changed. TLDR probably won't fit when you get them.
the size is not close to what they say they are
The pants that came are not Dickies and came from a 3rd party. So disappointed in Walmart for allowing this to happen. If I wanted 3rd party items I would have ordered from Amazon. Hoping I get my money back. I never knew when ordering from Walmart it would be anyone other than walmart. Pants made in china.
