Pants seem to be fine, ‘straight leg' fit is a bit tight for my legs, but you must ‘test fit' anyway to figure out how ‘they' have cut the pants vs how you actually fit them. I wear 30 inseam pants, and almost exclusively wear Dickies now, since they have been true to sizing. These pants are labeled 40x30, but are more like 40x32. I could tell they were too long before I got them full-on for a test-fit. I will need to see if these come in a fuller cut version on the reorder, straight leg apparently isn't for me….It's all about the thighs!
I've been using Dickies products for severals years now and I must admitt that they are pretty good. I purchased these Cargo pants because I needed additional pockets for the amount of stuff I carry and it was the only logical reason to invest in a pair of Dickies mens pants. First off,I like the quality that and the durability of the material that holds up really good in the washing machine. No fading or soft spots in the material to include the Dickies Jeans. My only gripe is that I have is that, Dickies doesn't make the mens pants with an additional cell pocket or or sixth pocket on the left leg for left hander's or for any added convenience.
I wanted the functionality of having enough pockets for cell phone and wallet without the pocket bulges. I also wanted pants that always looked pressed, with crease, and wrinkle-free, without ironing. It was a bonus that the waist has the flex feature. It's the perfect pair of men's pants.
I've been buying Dickies pants for many years and consider them a great value. They wear well and have never fallen apart. However, lately I get the feeling that tolerances during manufacture have declined. I recently ordered the same size cargo pant in three different colors and discovered that two fit snugly around my "challenged belly" while the third pair was definately tight. Also, one pair of the same pant ordered later came with a rear pocket that I could not secure around my wallet...suffering a broken thumb nail in the attempt. All other pants have worked fine, for many years actually, with the same wallet and contents. So, either the pocket button hole was cut too low, or the pocket was too shallow. Hey, how about a little more strictness on that quality control!
I have been a Dickies wearer for many years and especially liked the flex fit cargo pants. I was disappointed at the quality this purchase. The waist is not elastic, the pockets are opposite what they were (phone pocket) and the material is not as durable and thick. I dont understand why they still call them flex when the waistband has no elastic.
These pants are so thin you can, literally, see through them. Apparently, Dickies has added a lower level of pants that i was not aware of. The previous pairs i have purchase were made of better materials for the same price. I would not recommend this line of pants
I am switching from jeans to cargo style so I have a place to put my cell phone. I am tired of the cell phone hanging from my hip and with the large size cell phone I just got it is more needed than before. The search lead me to the Flex Regular Fit Straight Leg Cargo Pants which had an actual cell phone pocket. I ordered them on-line and received them very quickly. The fit is very good and I like the cell phone pocket greatly. The best idea I have seen. My only problem with the pants is the zipper. It is like a half zipper and doesn't go down as far as all other pants I have ever owned. This may be a style that I am not aware if but for practical purposes, not good. I will not get any more of these pants and will continue my search for the perfect work pants.
Most poorly sized pants I have ever gotten, bought 3 pairs of the same style and size that I already had two pairs of which fit me real well. The three new pair although marked as being same size appear to actually two different sizes 1 of the three pairs fits just barely and the other two pair don't even come close to fitting. It appears that Dickies has some really poor quality control. Although I am happy with the first two pairs I had bought, I cannot say the same about the last three pairs.
Happens everytime I order multiple identical items and they are all different sizes. Wish manufactures would care that people are ordering certain sizes for a reason. An inseam of 32 should not be a half inch difference between identical size and pant. So I order two of the same size and can only wear one because the other is too big. Id send back but I expect their qc department to catch. Another retailer not in it for the consumer. Didnt used to be this bad. Why should I have to pay return shipping when they sent wrong sized clothing its like that saying one had one job... make a 32 in seam 32 not 32 1/2 or 32 3/4...
I have worn the dickies 874's in the dickies 873's my entire life. I took a chance on these never having tried them before And they fit two sizes smaller than what I ordered. I'm not sure why I couldn't even button them around. My waist really is a huge letdown by dickies I do not recommend these cargo pants to anybody.
