If you like the digimon franchise (or raising other virtual pets) this kind of device (a.k.a. digital monster 20th) is currently the best value digimon raising device (often found at $20 or lower at this moment in time). It has many raisable digimon and a variety of device colors to chose from. Digital monster 20th devices have very similar digimon to raise with a few different monsters to raise depending on the color of the device that you choose. Check out humulos's site "digitama hatchery" to get a better idea of which color device has which digimon that you might perfer. It's also a good site with guides for how to raise your digimon.

My son really likes it! He likes to have a pet! It takes a lot of work and play time but not to much.
