[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Discovery Mindblown - Toy Solar Vehicle Construction Set 197pc is an amazing toy. My son is 7 and he loves to build things so this is right in his wheelhouse. I love these discovery sets and the science behind it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my son. He is 13 and loves to build. He started a robotics club at school that inspired his love for building things. He loves these kits. This one was easy for him. He said he didn't need any help at all. Did it all on his own a d he was so proud.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice project for young builders. Our boy needed help to put this together, but we all had fun helping him. The good thing about this, when you finish building it, you get something that actually works. It is not very powerful, but it does work. Read instructions before you start putting this together! We will be looking for other similar sets to get as a Christmas gift!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Both of my sons really enjoyed trying to build this vehicle. It wasnt too hard for them to do with a little teamwork and I didn't have to worry about them hurti ng them selves trying to put it together. They enjoy it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really cool construction set that I am so excited to complete with my son. He loves to put things together and the solar energy makes this a really unique product. It's educational and hands, two things I always look for in toys for my son.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Toy Solar Vehicle Construction Set for my kids to try out. I specifically saved this for my 8 year old son as he loves to build things! He loved it! There are so many different options to choose from that it's endless possibilities!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So this says it's for 8yrs and up, but my 7yo daughter just loves robots so we decided to give it a shot. Unless you have a super organized kid, I recommend adult supervision. The kit comes with hundreds of little pieces that need to be cut apart and then sorted into bags. Some of the pieces are used between multiple models, so when you're done building one, it pays to take the time to sort the pieces back into the bags. I think this is where most kids are going to lose interest, and they'll have a hard time finding the right pieces again later if it's missed. Hence the adult supervision, and the missing star. It would be so much better if the individual pieces were labeled instead of the packaging they're attached to. Other than that, the instructions are OK. They only require basic reading and decoding skills though.
My girls were so excited to get this project. It has tons of various robot options for them to build. It is something you need to help your kids build due to the smaller parts. It was a great project to encourage your kids to work as a team. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited when I saw this toy, my kids absolutely love building, especially when it come to items that can move. This one was particularly catchy to us because of the solar power use. Let me start by saying, go in to this project with patience. This one takes a lot of work, have to smooth out pieces, etc. my 9 year old lost interest for awhile but ultimately he loved it once it was built. We made the robot on the boat and we are hoping to release him in a neighborhood pond or lake and see if we can get others to tag him on social media, why not share the fun!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked this as a science project to do with my older child as she is now in school and I feel that teaching about renewable energy is a great idea. So off the bat I had high hopes. Then I opened the box. Ok, ok I've had things like this where I've had to remove each and every piece from the mold. But for some reason, this was harder than most and my child quickly lost interest and ran to play while I sat on the front steps pulling this apart. Now fast forward to the next day and we start to put the thing together. Soooooo many parts. It really should be simpler for the age group they are targeting. Of course my youngest saw the robot “walking” and ran to pick it up and stepped on a part. That lead to several easily broken parts. So we now use it in a different mode. I honestly with this was a remote control robot or something because it would keep attention longer.
