I have gotten my kids a couple in the past and thought this gem mining kit would be fun for them since they love shiny gems and rocks. It kept their attention for a long time, as they were each chisling out the little gemstone, and they were very excited to see what surprise was inside. I do wish there were more in each package, but I guess we'll have to buy more, and more of the other educational kits. I really like seeing their excitement, and the pamphlet inside has a lot of nice facts for them to learn. I recommend this brand!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Such a fun toy/experiment! The package is exactly what's on the inside. The rocks are easy for kids to break and open so they can see the crystals. It's a fun toy to blend in with homeschooling! There's plenty of rocks for many kids to enjoy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my 4 year old son and my 7 year old daughter. They absolutely loved it! They like to dig and “find treasures” but some of the other kits I have gotten were a bit too difficult for them to get the hidden items out. The instructions in this kit suggested soaking it for a little bit to help soften it and that was amazing! My kids had so much fun and didn't get frustrated like they have with other kits. Would absolutely get it again in a heartbeat.

He loved the tumbled stones that were inside. It's not as messy as you'd think either. This is a nice little experiment to get them to understand the process. Definitely recommend this for kids that are into geology!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was somthing my son loves doing with the discovery kits he loves doing this he is hoping to get a gem out of this so fun and exciting for little kids they would definitely love this product highly recommend but not suitable for ages 3 needs to be ages 4 and up but still a great gift any kid would enjoy this product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you have a budding archaeologist in the family, they will love this ! Got the Mini Shark Tooth Excavation Kit for my grandson. This is a great learning tool to unearth fossils and sharks teeth. He loves it !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter had fun searching for “buried treasure” with this activity kit. The coolest part are the two gemstones that are found at the end. It does take quite a bit of effort to dig out the gemstone-I helped my daughter so I know first hand! The kit also came with a cool poster-sized guide with directions, fun facts, and activities. One thing I didn't love is that the box it comes in is unnecessarily large-a lot of empty space around the actual items. It would be a great idea for a kid who is in to rock collecting, but I wasn't personally impressed enough to buy more, especially since it's a one-time activity.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] we got the geo rocks that w though would give us a variety of color crystal when we broke them in half. but to our disappoint every sing one was the same clear quartz . it really wasn't worth it and disappointed my little one.
