[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter could not wait to play with this toy! It's super fun and easy to use. There's 3 different size molds that are mug sized. I love that it also comes with paint which allows them to decorate their creation. It's easy to clean up and requires minimal supervision. I thought it was going to be messy but it wasn't at all!

This set up is very basic and comes with pretty much everything you need to get started. Instructions are very easy to read and understand. The quality of everything seems really nice. I'm enjoying it and my kids love it even more! Doesn't include batteries.. they are C batteries.

It was definitely a great set to foster creativity and relaxing play! When it dries they are easy to paint!

This set has everything you need to create your own piece of pottery. Comes with a motorized wheel, clay, tools, paint, and instructions. Great way to let the kids be creative and create a one of a kind piece of pottery.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Discovery Kids Pottery Wheel is a cute little project center. My daughter had fun making a little cup to store pens for her desk. Once we got the hang of molding the clay over one of the molds provided, it came together pretty easily. She is happy that she was able to create something she has never done before. It is really messy so make sure to put a larger tablecloth/drop cloth down or Do your project outside when the weather is nice. Don't do it when it is really warm or the clay will dry out even quicker and be more challenging to use. It is recommended to let your project dry 24 hours before doing any painting. We found it wasn't quite dry at 24 hours. We waited 48 and it was dry then. I would say the 6-8 years old age suggestion is a good threshold. Any younger than that and it might end up doing the entire project yourself and any older may have a child that loses interest. Things we liked: *It's a cute set with many different tools to help make a pottery piece. *It will keep your child busy for some time, at least 30 minutes to get a decent product. *The paints are a plus. One less things to drag out or buy. *Pretty easy to store. All the tools and paints can be stored in the built in storage part. The cups fit on top and make it a little awkward, but save the box and then you don't have to worry about anything. *Seems to made with heavier duty plastic. Things we struggled with: *No batteries included - takes 4 - C batteries so that was an added expense. Not huge nor a surprise since it doesn't say batteries included on the “Contents” list on the back, but still an added expense. Maybe put on the front “Batteries to be purchased separately” or make it more noticeable. *The clay itself was moldable, but way too dry to sculpt right out of the package. We had to add a lot of water to get it to even mold into a ball. *The wheel itself does not seem powerful enough to really “sculpt” anything freehand. The molds are definitely the way to go. *We had to use the highest setting and more water to mold the cup. Even then, the wheel slowed way down with added pressure so it made it a slower process to get a cup molded. Overall, it'd be fun for the 6-8 year old range and good for those wanting a small taste of what a pottery wheel is like, but I feel this just doesn't have enough power to get a great taste of what making pottery is like.
