Absolutely goes 30ft or more. If you're having trouble here's some tips. You can use just vinegar and baking soda (incase you don't want to deal with Walmart on a weekend when the kids want to do this), or you replace the vinegar with a mix of water and citric acid. If it's taking forever warm the water/vinegar, it just needs to be warm, not hot! Give it a shake before you put it on the base. A quick shake, literally 1 shake. If you go a little too hard it will take off in your face and citric acid in the eye isn't all that fun. Make sure to pack the center core, if you don't you're gonna have a wimpy flight. Definitely a great way to introduce kids to rockets, much safer and cheaper too!
great value. i bought citric acid in the canning department and baking soda both are cheap. shake it one time no more than that and it will go pretty high safe for first time rocket for kids
Worked well once we figured out how to assemble it. The instructions are not as good as they could be. We made a YouTube video that may help other parents trying to launch the rocket for their kids. Our kids had fun seeing it launch.
This rocket didn't launch more than 3 inches... though it promises 30 feet. The kit should also have included a funnel or a bigger hole opening at the rocket base to add the citric acid and water.
Received as a gift. Does not include citric acid and the baking soda required to make it work. I would never personally purchase Discoivery Kids kits as I know they are absolute garbage.
The rubber stopper did not fit, it was way too small tried to fix ,but there was no way. No citric acid as well. Sad day for a kid.
