[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids are so excited about Lightyear, that when they received a ship from the movie, they were the ones over the moon! The ships are very detailed for being quite small. The figure that completes the set bends to sit in the realistic opening/closing cockpit. The ship has collapsible landing gear making the ship perfect for flying at hyperspeed or remaining grounded for missions.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toy is so nice that as soon as I opened the box my kid got so excited overall the packaging is good and quality is also very sturdy and nice it's a good addition to the toy collection and kids love it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our son loves vehicles. He also enjoy figurines so this is a great toy for his collection. He is currently 6 and on the spectrum and he really seems to enjoy this gift we go him to play with. Would buy as another gift.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Disney Pixar Lightyear Hyperspeed Series XL-02 & Buzz Lightyear figure for my 2 and 6 year old boys. They really enjoy playing “space” and this toy fits right in. However, I wish the sizing was different. The buzz figure is super tiny. I won't let my 2 year old play with it because it is super tiny. I wish the sizing could have been aligned more with that of a LEGO person, but that's just personal preference. The spaceship itself is pretty cool. The top comes up so you can place the pilot in it. The landing wheels can also be pulled down so the spaceship can stand on them or the wheels can remain folded in. This is a nice feature so the kids can change it up depending on if the spaceship is in flight or grounded during their games. The spaceship seems very durable. This toy is good for kids with great imaginations. I do wish their was some sound element to it, but kids usually make their own sounds for things when they're playing anyway. I think this toy can be great for a wide age range. Just keep in mind the figure is super small so that element wouldn't be best for the little kids.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very cute little toy that my sons like very much. Its a little small for my liking i had to keep the little person away from my smaller son as he still puts stuff in his mouth but other than that its great.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The toy is simple, sturdy and well made, just enough details to show the makes of the plane and especially like the landing gears that retracts. The size is perfect for my kids hand. Only down side is that the pilot is very small, our pilot is missing after half day of play.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids both love this plane... they pretend he travels to the moon & explores. They love that the little guy comes out of the plane as well. This is great to add to our collection because with two girls we have an over abundance of girly things already. My husband uses this to play with the girls too. We pretend he have crash landed in barbie town and is now exploring the "alien" creatures lol. All and all a ton of fun, great detail and a cool little plane, it even has landing wheels that pop out. Perfect size for traveling too!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 4 year old son played with this toy for at most 2 minutes total. I've kept it in plain view of him (such as on the dinner table, piano, toy chest) the past couple weeks and he doesn't even want to pick it up again. To be fair, at the time of my writing this review, the movie Lightyear hasn't been released yet which could change his interest level. As an avid toy fan, I want to love this toy. It has a detailed plastic mold where you can see intricate lines running through the engines. Decent paint on the ship with interesting colors. The plastic canopy is translucent, although not enough to easily tell when the small Buzz Lightyear figure is sitting inside the cockpit, which is probably a good thing because the small figure is horrible (mainly due to the paint). There are 4 points of articulation on the ship, 3 landing gears the unfold but do not roll and the canopy that opens to reveal a cockpit. The small figure has 4 points of articulation with both arms and legs independently moveable. When I watched the Lightyear teaser, I got goosebumps and a tingly sensation of nostalgia mixed with excitement. When I pickup this toy, I feel nothing. The landing gears are solid pieces of plastic that fold down. I wish they were either wheels that rolled or even better pull back so the toy could zoom across the floor. Instead they just prop the spaceship up. The figure looks hand painted but the markings are indiscernible and what should look like Buzz Lightyear looks instead like a space zombie. The helmet on the figure is painted a solid silver, nothing that would indicate this is Buzz Lightyear. Again, the movie has not come out yet at the time of this review. But a great toy should be fun by its own merits even without a big summer blockbuster IP behind it. Instead, I can't even get my kid to play with this again and I can't say I blame him.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great toy. Seems made verily well but the concern I have is the small toy soldier that comes with the ship. It is very small and lots of red flags come to mind when I saw it. First if a child would to swallow it or put it in their nose. Could easily get stuck. Also, for parents to step on this would be very painful.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This ship and figure were a little disappointing for my 7 year old son. The ship is easy for him to hold, is very detailed, and held up to light play. However, it is almost too small. The landing gear doesn't seem too sturdy and doesn't roll. The cockpit door seems fragile and doesn't snap shut so Buzz might fall out if he tries to fly upside down. There are no missiles like Zurg's ship has and no sound feature. The Buzz Lightyear figure is surprisingly posable, but so tiny that he will get lost easily. It's understandable that Buzz and his ship should be smaller than Zurg and his ship, but for a 7 year old that doesn't matter. I would say this tiny Buzz and his ship are more for display than kid's play.
