This is the best rod and reel combo ever. Easy to use and light and compact to be able to carry anywhere. super strong! I've caught 10 pound Bass, large catfish, even a 5 FOOT LONG alligator gar on it ( I tied on a steel leader) with just the line that comes already on the spinning reel. Definitely the best rod and reel in my entire life. i was hesitant at first just from the size of it, but I'm glad i went with it. Great things do come in small packages!

Perfect beginner rod/reel combo
My niece loved her new fishing rod. I chose this because it's a good brand, has both rod and reel so is ready to go, is the right size for a kid to use from a dock or boat. She has not had a chance to try it. If there are any issues, I will amend this review.

Small and strong
Great small combo for the price great to have in your car as a backup or as an emergency when you're out and you see a chance to fish. The reel is OK for small freshwater fish. The rod itself is pretty strong. I’ve put a heavier wheel on it and used it on the beach and caught some nice sized fish..

The dock runner is the most fun you can have targeting small fish. It’s the same quality and value as any ugly stik combo, only smaller, and it gives even fish under a pound or two the opportunity to put up a great fight

Grateful for your unbearable price and service
After many years, your price is still great, compared to other dealers. I want to thank you for sustaining my life style as a disabled veteran. Excellent service and quick delivery! Thanks to you, Walmart team!!

Powerful and reliable
Ugly stik does not disappoint. Powerful for the price. My son wears this rod out and it still gets the job done every time.

My two sons each have one and they take a beating from them and besides a few scratches the combo works great.

It's ok
Works great but button broke on both rods not sure if it's a manufactured issue or 6 year old just too strong but feel like a kid shouldn't be able to break it js

cheap and or defective real
the pole so far is decent but the real literally crack and broke apart on second use, I did not drop it and nothing happened to it for it to break the way it did so it either was defected or cheap material used for the real the ugly stick pole itself so far seems to be legit would be nice for manufacturer to replace what is broken or give money back.
