Doheny's Super Pool Shock, Pro-Grade 68% Cal-Hypo Granular Chlorine, Quick-Dissolving, Kills Algae & Bacteria, 12 x 1 lb Bags

Love the shock. It works great for sanitizing my pool when needed in S.E. Texas. However, the directions state to store in a "cool" place. I keep it in my non-airconditioned, but well ventilated, garage. When I go to get a package (or several) the plastic wrapper comes unsealed at the centerline seam because the plastic has softened and packages become stuck to each other. The package is also sticky and becomes difficult to wash off my hands. Apparently it's not cool enough in the garage. But the packaging does not state a max temp for storage. I cant store them inside my house, so I guess I'm forced to buy a small refrigerator to store them in a "cool place".

This product did not seem to do anything except grow algae in my pool. I had been using powdered pool shock from another large pool supply company which always worked fine, but I figured I could save some money with Doheny's shock. It did not even register on my test strip. So I doubled the usual amount and it still did not register. It also does not dissolve well at all. A lot of it just settled on the bottom. I went back to my old brand and old dosage and now everything is back to normal. I tried.

Usually use this product. Bad Spring/early Summer weather wise. Used a cheaper, less effective shock that had as a backup to use up. Pool would not clear up and chlorine was always on the low side. Put Doheny's shock in pool and cleared up in 24 hours and chemicals were balanced.

I use 3lbs of shock per week in my 20'x40' pool and this keeps the water clear. My one issue with it is that it all settles on the bottom and needs to be brushed up 10 minutes after adding to the water. I've used other powder shocks that dissolve without the brushing.

We were having issues with algae and no free chlorine and needed more shock. This product was fine for helping with the algae but does not dissolve very well. For a few days we have to stir up the bottom of the pool to get the rest to dissolve. Our pool pumps are always on.

This shock permanently stained our liner which now needs be replaced. After use, when shock settled at the bottom we were unable to vacuum off bottom even after manually scrubbing. We've had our pool for 19 years and never had an issue until the use of this shock. Needless to say we will not be purchasing again.

I purchase cases of 1lb bags of shock for my inground pool. Two bags each week and it remains crystal clear throughout the summer. I stock up at the beginning of the season when Doheny's offers great prices. Delivery is fast and reliable. Recommended!

Another season underway using Doheny quality pool chemicals. I use their shock and 3 inch chlorine tabs and pH Up and the pool is ready for swimming within 7 days of opening and shocking. During the season, never a problem. And their prices are so much lower than any pool supply store on Long Island. With Doheny ( and my old Dolphin robot) maintaining my pool is a breeze.

Dohenys products are by far the best pool products that i have ever used..They last for a long time. My pool looks amazing and the pool water smells so good amd clean. I have very hard water and i usually can smell it on my clothes snd skin when i get out of my pool. Bur with their products my pool water doesn't have that awful smell. The shock turned my pool blue instantly. the 3 in tablets i put in my skimmer and my basket on the side. they last forever, ehen i tirn my ppol on you can snell the cleanness of the water. it makes it soft too, if you habe hatd water you know what i mean. my hair doesn't feel like straw when i get out either. i will always use their products, others are a waste of money.

We've had a pool for 20 years & have tried dozens of products. All of Doheny's products are, by far, the BEST we've ever used. This shock is fast working & effective.
