Fun Set of Dolly Movies
Dolly is like her own Hallmark Lifetime channel with these movies. We remember them when they first came on Netflix some years ago. They were sweet stories. So when we saw this kind of programming on DVD, we just had to get it. Each episode is really a mini-movie. They're not interconnected. Each story is based around one of Dolly's songs, obviously elaborated into a feature. The stories are simple and homey and remind us of Hallmark movies. They stand on their own, so we can watch them occasionally without the need to binge. Dolly appears in the movies either as a character or herself. We enjoy her acting and her music, so this is a good addition to the DVD library. It's billed as 522 minutes, which is over 8 hours for 8 episodes. That's about 65 minutes per mini-movie. We didn't time them, but some feel a bit longer than that. So overall, it's a good value for the amount of programming you get. Dolly fans will get it, of course, but other fans of family movies that tell stories without the use of gratuitous violence should consider this collection as well.

Nice anthology
The stories behind some of Dolly Parton's greatest songs are featured in this series --like reading a book of short stories, but watching it on screen. Top notch acting %26 production standards. Any fan of Dolly Parton needs this in their movie library.
