I had my doubts, I have a pool that does not have a straight or flat area. My pool is gunite which I thought would be a problem with a machine that was gong to use suction and rubber treads to climb the walls plus. There is a bench in my pool that wraps around one side for sitting in the pool. But after a bad year of leaves and a ton of pollen I decided to see what was out there. The Quantum was brand new and up there in price but it was totally worth it. I gave it a workout since I had 30 days to return it, no questions. While waiting for my Quantum to show up (about a week) I let the pool go. It was a green mess chemicals would be needed (don't use any if you $$ Quantum is in the pool) But I wanted to see what it could do. It stirred up a lot of muck but the Quantum picked up a lot of green muck. Also the Quantum has active tracking and mapping so if something is in the way it will go around it. Also it maps out the pool so it can hit everyspot. It maps out the pool actively seeing where it has been and where it's going. The Quantum has a large basket for leaves, you pull it out and hit the leaver dumping out from the bottom, take a hose and rinse. It also has two sets of filters one for regular days and one for those messy days. The power cord is around 60 feet plenty for what I have.

I love this robot it works well It just randomly cleans the pool area. the waterline cleaner programmed in is great It gets hung up on my drain covers on the bottom of the pool. But I just give it a nudge and it's on its way. Cleans easily once you figure out how things work.

I love the sweep but my controller doesn't set programs

This pool vacuum is just for sucking leaves but definitely not algae because algae will still be sprayed out of the propeller and back into the pool.

Don't like that cord constantly twists Don't like that it Hans up and stays over many 1/2 protruding main drain

Does not properly climb ways. Buttons don't properly communicate status. Avoid.

In the product discription, it is said that the quantum has no problem with pool drain covers, but mine gets stuck on the main drain covers for 1 1/2 to 5 minutes at a time, several times during the 2 hour cycle, before it eventually frees itself. This effectively reduces the cleaning time by up to 15%. It would not be an issue if the cleaning time could be increased to compensate, but this is not possible with the quantum model. I have been in contact with Maytronics and, if they cannot resolve this, I'll return this model, and will order something that will work.
