Thank goodness for this company. The mole is made authentic style and oh so rich. This product is the concentrate and the whole jar mixed with broth is enough for 8 chicken thighs. I simply love this product. They take the time to make the mole old fashioned way.
this is a very good way to recreate the mexican mole from mexico to your table!! and if you like the spice and sweet flavor at the same time put a lil bit o chocolate abuelita piece and enjoy!!
Tried this out and was shocked at how good it was! Its spicy enough for the "hot" lovers to approve, but gentle enough for the sensitive to enjoy. Plus, the jar itself was an added joy. I clean them up and use them as juice glasses for the kids.
This stuff is delicious and ready to use!!! To lessen the spiciness you can just drain off the oil on the top.
tasty mole offered @ WM. single portion boxes n larger portions in glass containers r good quality. simple juice glass is part of package.
This brand of mole is the only one I'll use. It's amazing taste is unmatched. I ordered 3 because I like the juice glass it came in. The picture still shows the juice glass, but what I got was regular jars with screw top lids. No more pop off lids is sad. I was trying to get a set of juice glasses to collect. They used to come in different pattern glass surface, striped, polka dots, etc. Now I have way more mole than I can use. It's a dish that only gets made once or twice a year. First photo is what I expected. Second one is what I got. You should change the photo on your website.
I was hoping this would taste like the mole you get at a Mexican restaurant, but it really didn't. The flavor was off and kind of unpleasant, and the texture was gritty, almost like wet sawdust. I tried working with it, but it just never smoothed out or developed the depth I expected. If you're looking for authentic‑tasting mole, this didn't come close for me.
This was bitter and disappointing. It's alot like tahini, mainly ground sesame seeds. Add to that, over roasted chili peppers. I had to microwave it to get it out of the bottle. Thinned with vegetable stock. I gave it some love with blended onion/garlic/tomato, added a pinch of cocoa, brown sugar, cinnamon. It still didn't taste good. Will probably dump it and make something else this Cinco de Mayo.
The change in packing IS SAD and it is a VERY, VERY, VERY BIG DEAL. If you grew with Dona Maria authentic mole paste, your family kept and reuse all the glasses in which the mole came. Now, it is only a regular useless, ugly jar... just because some people not born and raised in Mexico do not know how to open the container. The only thing that you could do worse than this to offend all your customer would be to start packing it on a plastic container... that would be the end of it! (please I am not suggesting you do that, I am asking the company to go to the traditional container in a glass container that can be use as regular glass to hold your drinks). To the people complaining about the flavor of the mole: you are not following instructions. You need to add chicken broth, 2-3 tomatoes, 1/2 an onion, a couple garlic. Then you blend everything together, and pour it into cooked chicken, then take it to a BOIL all together and, once it is boiling add Abuelita chocolate (1 tablet) and some bee honey (if you like it sweeter). You could also add a little bit of cinnamon if needed. Keep if hot an stir constantly for a few minutes. And then let it cool down. It should be completely different than to just heated the past with chicken broth in the microwave :)
To many damage and like inside a box when I told delivery I want to send it back right a way he said you did open it no and double tape
