Defective design, manufacture
I bought 2 similar Dorel twin bunk beds. There is a problem with Dorel's bunk bed mattress support. The coil spring mattress support is inadequate. I have had to add two additional slats to each level, one at each end, between the original 1st and 2nd slats, and between the original 7th and 8th slats. This is true for both this vertical, laminated slat design and the previous horizontal flat slat, solid wood design. Also, Dorel has not responded to my concerns about defects in their design, manufacture and lamination process leading to splintered slats. I will update this if I hear anything helpful from the company. Defective design, manufacture
