The old one was completely rusted out and the fan would only blow 100% or be completely off. After putting this one in I can use all the blower settings again. The metal spring things on the side which are supposed to keep the resistor block secured in place were a little weak so it would sit loose in the hole. I ended up putting glue on the edge as well as bending the metal strips out a little and that worked. During the first two days of use it filled the car with a strong smell. It seemed like in all the power settings there would be this little layer that needed to be burned off. After two days the smell was gone. It might have been glue that got on the coils or just the coils itself I'm not sure. I've been using it a little over two weeks now and works without problems.
