The part was a direct replacement
The Dorman actuator was a direct replacement for the OEM actuator and it corrected the clicking issue I was experiencing.

Dorman 604-108 HVAC Air Door Actuator
I needed 3 of these and the new ones installed very easily and worked great!! (They also arrived VERY quickly! (Although, I did have to wait a few weeks for the weather to get warm enough to get them installed!)

Saved a Bundle
Tricky to remove 2 metric screws in tight fit from glove box of 2008 Impala. You should check YouTube to overcome obstacles by not removing entire dash! Very tight fit solved by purchasing cheap thumb wheel for socket drivers.

Dorman 604-108 HVAC Air Door Actuator
Very good replacement part at a reasonable price. Improvement could be made in this part if it had metal gears instead of plastic ones , prone to replace these about once every 3 -4 years even with GM part . Which is expensive if dealer or mechanic installs these for you. I install my own but it can be a pain to do, I had to replace 3 this time, which would have cost a small fortune done by someone else.

Great part, bad delivery
The Dorman Actuator is by far the best. I have installed 2 already on my Chevy Impala... yes, there should have been a recall, but that doesn't mean I have to pay through the nose to get and install one either. So I did them myself. The price here for Walmart is the best around. The only drawback was the delivery. Was suppose to be a week took a little over 2. But the product even with the S

Works OKAY...but ...could be better
Functions as expected, however; the manufacturer should consider redesigning the gear material to metal or a stronger composite so drive gear teeth dont shear so easily . I'd rather pay 5 or 10 dollars more for a device that doesn't self destruct. I've had to replace 4 of these in my 2012 Impala and it's very difficult.
