Dossier Musky Aldehydes Eau de Parfum, Inspired by Byredo's Blanche, Unisex Perfume, 1.7 oz

I see why some people think that smell like soap. At first, if you spray too much, have a soapy smell. But once airs of a bit, smell fantastic. Very clean. Just be mindful to not spray too much!

This is very much an aldehydic scent, so you either like that, or you don't. Original Blanche, when I first smelled it, was the epitome of old school aldehydes, with a modern clean twist, so, pretty much fresh laundry and more. This is also rather reminiscent of one of the scents from Clean (maybe it was Cotton T-shirt?). The Dossier impression has a slightly different floral notes at the top (lily and freesia, perhaps) that make it a bit sharper at first, and contrasts more with the musk and aldehydes, and is a touch more synthetic-feeling. On drydown, the original has a more complex sandalwood note that does seem to be either missing or overtaken by the musk/aldehydes. These things are more apparent when I hold my nose to the sprayed spots, but normal whiffs of these are much harder to tell apart. Honestly, I like Musky Aldehydes better than many of Clean's offerings, and it's a great alternative to the very expensive original, of which I only have a small travel spray.

Smells just as described- laundry on the line, and does blend nicely with citrus tea, if for some crazy reason you dont find citrus tea to be utterly flawless as is, (or just want a variation on a theme). If light and fresh is your thing-youll be at home with this fragrance.

Based on the reviews, I took a chance getting perfume from this company, and I just received my first dossier today, and as soon as I smell the top of the bottle, I got teary-eyed and jumping for joy. This is definitely the same exact scent as the original Blanche by Byredo. I just did a couple spray on me to test the dry down then I will post a follow up review later I am just really excited to share my review as soon as I got my musky aldehydes.

This is the most insanely insane scent Ive smelled ever. I am o dressed beyond with it and spray it on several times a day. I am about to order my second bottle its so good. Its like it gets under your skin, no pun intended. Ive never smelled the original but if its anything like this one then Im afraid because I will not be able to afford it! Please Dossier do not stop making this scent. Make more!!! Also this is one of the best scents to layer with. Its like taking a fresh drink of water and layering with powdery coconut does the trick.

I've recently fallen down a musk wormhole that was opened up to me when I tried Musc Invisible by Juliette Has a Gun, and was entranced by that scent profile. I got out my Musky Gaiac, Musky Rose, and Musky Aldehydes, and fell in love all over again with the warm, fuzzy, cozy textures in each one of these scents. They are almost huggable. I wore this one today on the coldest day of the season so far, and kept getting wafts of it in the frigid breeze while handing out candy, and was so impressed as it had been sprayed five hours earlier! This is such a beautiful scent profile- it does not list cotton flower or cotton in the notes, but I get that kind of clean, comfortable, breezy feel in the dry down of this lovely all occasion fragrance!

First of all, the concentration is 18%--stunning & wow. Truly impressed by Byredo dupe. Hate to call this a dupe because the Pepper, Jasmine, & Musky Sandalwood are a beautiful combination. Dossier hit the nail on the head with this Musky treat for your senses. Absolutely buy MUSKY ALDEHYDES for your collection.

This perfume smells great. It's gone after a few hours however, if it doesn't last, the scent is magnificent. It's exactly as described.

i haven't smelled the original, but this immediately reminded me of two things upon first snif: the air around a chlorinated pool, and the scent of generic public bathroom handsoap. neither of which are terrible, but aren't the vibe i'm every going for. there are other skin/musk/clean scents i like much better, so this one is a return.

I really want to like this one, but I still cant decide if I like it or not. Like others, I agree that it is a very strong soapy smell. Very much like detergent. It isnt a bad smell, but it is very strong and it takes a long time to tone down. The aldehydes overpowers the other scents. I cant smell anything but a soapy smell. It may be good to layer with other perfumes because it is a clean scent (literally clean, like fresh laundry clean), but Im just not sure yet. Most likely returning since I have a few others from Dossier that I do love.
