The product itself works well and is a great concept. However, too much material is used in the packaging, even if it is recycled. I know there are people on the design/engineering team who can come up with more streamlined packaging. Also, because the refill cases are post consumer use, they can't be recycled. It is less than a deodorant stick, but let's do better.
Dove's deodorants for sensitive skin are the ONLY ones I've ever used that don't cause a lot of pain, however, the design flaws of this product are massive. I can't believe it made it out of testing. The deodorant itself is great, the stick WILL break though, no matter how careful you are. I recommend keeping it in the fridge (esp if you're in a warm climate like I am) to keep it a bit more stable. Please, Dove, fix the design of this product. I want to keep using your stuff, but I'm also very very serious about cutting plastic use from my life. Please fix this design flaw.
Deodorant itself works great. This has been the only deodorant I've used where I've smelled good all day! The design of the product is horrible. It broke from the dispenser after two or three days of using. Basically, the only way I can use it now is by holding the actual deodorant in my hand and applying to underarms directly. NOT IDEAL.
It broke only after a few applications. Instead of having the whole deodorant exposed the way this is they should've made it a roll out one instead, that way it doesn't break so easily. I mean think about it if you were to roll out any deodorant all the way out and use it, it's going to break!! So stupid!
I bought this product excited to finally see a reusable, eco-friendlier deodorant in my area and boy was I let down! I had been using this product for about 2 weeks and the deodorant broke off from its plastic bottom. Incredibly disappointed considering I paid more than normal for this deodorant.
After reading about this in Real Simple magazine, I rushed out to buy this product and after my first use, I was a big fan, telling all my friends about it. BUT, after the second use the deodorant stick broke off the base and fell on the floor, making a mess. Not to mention that the case is not well made and the top does not click shut. Every time I try to pick it up, the case falls apart and the stick breaks further. What a disappointment!
So disappointed. Was excited to find a non- liquid deodorant (for travel) that used less plastic. But after three uses it snapped at the base. Just have to hold the deodorant in my fingers to apply now. Hope they figure out the packaging- it's a great concept!
We used to be loyal Dove users and I was excited to try the refillable deodorants. I purchased a starter pack and two refill boxes for each family member. Now we have a bunch of broken refills and useless holders. Every one of them broke and fell off the base within the first three days of use. Very disappointing that these are so poorly engineered and a complete waste of money.
The block of deodorant always break at the base after a few uses, even the second use if you push a little harder to make sure the product stay on your skin. Do not buy. It is a waste of money because of poor and stupid design. The metal case will last forever, the actual refil deodorant inside will ALWAYS BREAK before you can finish it.
I thought this was a great idea because I do save all my used deodorants when I'm done with them and melt them down to a new stick. The problem I found with this one is that there is no support for the stick itself. And after 3 uses it broke. Now I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to reattach it to the base or to use in an empty deodorant container I have and repurposing the main body into something else.
