I love the downy ball! It is easy to use; just fill with your favorite scent of downy fabric softener and toss it in at the start of your wash cycle....done! You don't have to wait on the rinse cycle and can get on with your day. When the load is done just rinse it.out and set it to air dry...very easy to use.

This product works well for washers with no separate compartments for detergent. It is also useful for laundromats with gunky liquid detergent compartments. The only thing i would suggest is having a more reliable hook/stopper so that a lot of softener doesn’t come out all at once.

This works really well! I was at a loss when I discovered my washer didn’t accept fabric softener, but Downy came to the rescue! It’s so easy to fill the ball, pull the little tab, and drop it in! The product seeps out through the tiny holes and works its magic. I give it a 4/5 because there is usually a bit of product left at the bottom of the ball and I do wish it could use all of it! Even so, great addition to my routine!

We use these to add our softener to the laundry in a top load washer. Sometimes they work great but half of the time they don’t release all of the product. This could be due to the size of the load I put in but it causes me to have to dump out water and product.

I’ve used the Downy Ball for years and it worked great in my older washing machines. With my current machine, it’s not really necessary since it already has a built-in dispenser that does the job well. That said, the Downy Ball is still a solid product—especially for machines without a softener compartment or for anyone using an older washer. Simple, affordable, and reliable for what it’s designed to do.

I used these when my old washer didn’t have the dispenser for fabric softener. You do need to add it at the beginning of the wash and let it do its thing. The liquid does dispense and cloths are left smelling good and soft. Do not over fill and I recommend cleaning it out regularly with hot water. They are fairly inexpensive and easy to find online or in a bigger grocery store. The top is easy to open and fill. Don’t over fill.
