This soap cleans extremely well. My husband wanted to switch to cleaner products for our health and the environment. I was very resistant cause I falsely believed the heavy duty chemicals cleaned better. I stand corrected. This is great for dishes, hand soap, bathing my infant, bathing my toddler, cleaning laundry, a general all purpose cleaner in a spray bottle, and even washing my face.
Goodbye itchy, irritated skin. My clothes smell clean and fresh, but not perfumed. My wonderful niece reintroduced me to this product that I remembered my grandmother used for everything from shampoo to washing clothes when I was young. I bought the largest bottle you sell and am thrilled with how little I need to use to wash a huge load of bedding or towels. Just a quarter cup.
I tried this to water down for my foaming soap pumps in the bathrooms and it is lovely. The smell is very mild, just what my sensitive household needs . A drop of essential oil would shine in this if you need scent. The bottle suggests 1/4 soap to 3/4 water which is just about perfect- I like a little more water. I also use this to machine wash my silk bathrobe and it cleaned up beautifully following the robe's cleaning instructions. The bottle has many use suggestions, but I bought it for handwashing and am very happy.
Finally something mild enough to not trigger allergies! Best used on it's own, though, because the lack of other ingredients (e.g., surfactants) makes it not mix well with other products (e.g., it separated out when I mixed it with borax %26 washing soda).
I've purchased the unscented soap a few times and every time I use a bottle, I have to go and order more because it's so very good I NEVER want to run out!!!
This is great for people that like Castile soap. It provides a nice lather and leaves skin feeling smooth. Product is labeled “Baby Unscented” (??) but there is no scent.
I love this soap. I love that you don't have to rinse forever to get it off. It leaves your skin squeaky clean and not slimy like so many products do these days. The Lather is the best. I use it to wash my hair also. I have hair that tends to lean dry so I typically have used conditioners. With this shampoo, I don't. Wash, rinse and done. Another good feature, I can get by with 4 days until next shampoo. Dr. Bronner's Soap, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways!!!
Besides the usual body care uses for Dr. B's Magic soap, I use this to wash delicate clothes. Modern liquid detergents rely on enzymes for cleaning, which can be harsh on natural fabrics like wool or silk, so with Dr. B around, I don't have to go out and buy another soap for delicates. I also found that Dr. B Magic soap removes fabric finishing and/or dyes smells from new jeans more effectively than vinegar, baking soda, etc. I soaked the jeans for a few hours in the washer with Dr. B and it worked! An unexpected side benefit was that my washer smelled great afterwards. I'd been fighting a mildew smell in my crummy washer I had bought during the plandemic without success for a couple of weeks. The Dr. B soap soak did the trick so I'll try that again if needed.
Dr. Bronner's is the best Castile soap out there. The other brands are not even close to being as good so don't purchase them trying to save a dollar or two. This soap can be used for so many various cleaning tasks. It's gentle, the baby version is fragrance free (which is so hard to find these days), and really gets out dirt and grim. Can be used on your skin, laundry, or floors! Check out the side for more ideas and skip the social media cleaning trends.
This is my first time trying this soap. I love the company but have previously only used the bar soaps, and wanted to try the liquid to compare. It says you're supposed to dilute this soap, but if I added any more water to it I don't know if it would even be soap anymore. It's MUCH more watered down than I expected it to be, to the point that I wouldn't consider this a concentrate. I bought it directly from the website. Seems to work ok once you work it to a lather, but it's way too thin for my preference and doesn't stay where you put it because it has the consistency of water, not traditional liquid/gel soap. Also smells a little like cooking oil, but that's probably from the olive oil. Overall, might work ok for some things but I don't think I'd get it again to use as a body wash.
