I loved my iRobot i7 . But it was getting old and tired. I expected this Dreame X 40, being about 4 or 5 years newer, with more advanced mapping, etc. would be a 50% improvement. It was more like a 500%. improvement!
I have watched many robot vacuum reviews and they all gave Dreame X 40 Ultra overall best rating. Even though newer version Dreame X 50 is now available, since I do not have humps for the vacuum to go over, X 40 was a better for the price option. I did the deep clean on the first run and OMG!!!! I didn't know how dirty my floor was. I do routine mopping but it wasn't enough! After a few days of daily cleaning, the floor was like new! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!! My wife said this was the best Mother's Day present ever!
I have wanted a robot that vacuumed and mopped for a while. Definitely glad I waited for the Dreame L40 Ultra does a great job

It proved difficult to set-up (I had hard time connecting it with the house wifi). A bit noisy. It takes a longer time (than I expected) for a thorough cleaning, so it's rather slow and inefficient. Leaves gaps near furniture/walls and seems to clean/mop randomly. It's the first robot vacuum cleaner I buy, so I may be too judgemental!
Absolute garbage. It does a better job spreading dirt throughout the house than it does vacuuming any of it up. It also can never find its dock. I set it right in front of the loading ramp, but when I click the home button, it immediately drives away and can never find its way back (even after reprogramming / remapping the room). Extremely disappointing given the price.
Biggest piece of junk I have ever bought. Already failing within 2 weeks. Mop pads keep falling off despite running on hardwood floor, mop pad self cleaning is nonfunctional and makes a horribly loud noise. Often misses spots and leaves behind clumps of dust and debris. Battery life is worthless, and the unit keeps getting stuck. Prior models owned have also malfunctioned, with tubing getting clogged, mapping problems, and frequently getting stuck. Very poor quality control and virtually nonexistent and wildly incompetent customer service. Avoid this brand at all costs. This is my 3rd return and will never buy a Dreame product again.
wouldn't buy and as it was clearance could not return it. the AI programming is wrong, as well as even vacuum operations are selected its cleaning pads before and after.
seller sent me a significant cheaper vacuum in place of the expensive vacuum I ordered. And the seller is unwilling to offer replacement in exchange for mail back return cheaper vacuum. The entire process is slow and refund process is even slower. Walmart should ban or at least suspend seller that maliciously sent inferior mislabel product when user bought expensive product. "Holmes Goods" is the seller in question. Please issue a warning or temporary suspension for sending incorrect cheaper product after taking payment for a more expensive product. Please investigate this seller for more possible scam product where they sent inferior cheap product after taking payment for more expensive product.
