I wasn't sure about it at first because I thought it was too big for me, I'm 5' 1”. But once I tried it on with my red wig and pirate costume, it really came together. It looked great and I got so many compliments! It's a keeper.

Good for a pirate costume
It's flimsier than it looks in photos and the lace edging is kinda flopsy. That being said, it looked like a fancy pirate hat which is what we were wanting.

This will be perfect for pirate night on a cruise. Its a little floppy but still fun!

Nice for a costume...
The hat looks stiff in the pictures, but it is soft velvet. It ships folded up in an envelope. The lace is floppy, not like the picture. If you just want a costume hat, go for it.. great deal, and sewn very well. BUT, if you want a more authentic hat I would keep looking. I ended up not even wearing it to our event, but my husband did...so not a total loss.
