[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of the the nicest things about the abrasive buffs is that they are eaasy to control and not as liable to get away from you and not as likely to "over buff".
I bought several of the bits to deburr our machined parts and they worked great. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I used a Dremel rotary tool w flex shaft for years. I still use the Dremel itself, but upgraded to a foredom jewelers tool. I still use these buffs. They work great but have never really lasted very long. I really wish I was able to buy in bulk!
After talking with a jeweler friend, and some testing landed on these “brushes” as the best tool to clean up the plated pieces of a cast iron antique sample stove. They do a great job but do wear out fast. Just like another reviewer I ‘m looking for a source to buy in bulk.
Depending on application, they last well. Trial and error! Not for hd cleaning or sanding (i.e. rusty tools, sanding wood, etc), they won't last. But when polishing up door handles, light tarnish on tools, and making shower fixtures look new again, they last and save a lot of time and effort.
This thing does what it's supposed to do but not for very long. Even a light touch at low rpm will use it up in a couple minutes. Even though they do a good job, they cost too much for the speed they wear out. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
somewhat good sander on curve surfaces. doesn't last long to sand on wood. product will wear down fast . did little to help get out burn router bit areas on hard maple curved surfaces [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I decided to look at the Dremel website after using the 512E sanding attachment. I thought I must have used it incorrectly or it wasn't supposed to be used on wood. Then after reading the few reviews I realized it was the product. I was using it to sand the edge of a small stool-it didn't last through that one small project. Given the cost of the attachment -it would far exceed the cost of the stool to use this product at the rate the piece wore down to practically nothing in under 5 minutes.
These bits have a utility life of about 5 minutes. I feel duped for having purchased them, considering the extremely limited amount of work I was able to accomplish with each disc before they disintegrated. Whatever use you have in mind for these discs, come up with an alternative plan. Unless you like throwing your money down the drain.
Only got one uses out this product before it failed.
