Love it! I bought it to cut metal and use its sanding tools. A great handy multi-use machine. You can't go wrong with Dremel, I also love the fact it is cordless and the battery lasts a long time. Only con is that the air vents can get hot so becareful how you hold the machine. Otherwise, it's a powerful machine that gets the job done. I'm very happy with my purchase and the delivery was free!!!!
I really like this new take on the Dremel tool. It looks sleek and has a great weight to it -- you don't want something flimsy when you're trying to trim woodwork or touch up something, and I was afraid it would be too flimsy since its cordless. Was glad to see that wasn't the case. Was also happy to see that it didn't lose much power by going cordless, and the battery life is actually pretty good. I love not having the cord to worry about when I'm working with the tool. I was also pleased with the number of attachments included with this package, covers everything I would want to do with a dremel. Overall, I'd recommend this Dremel, and would probably take it over any of its corded counterparts. I received this product at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review.
This is definitely a great rotary tool. It is much stronger than the cheaper units and is almost full-size in the hand. Have used it in carving and it has been quite powerful enough for the wood that I have worked on. It is, however, a discontinued model and has been replaced by the Dremel 8220 model.
quiet and strong great tool
My friend has this at work and has wanted one for a while. We couldn't find such a good cost anywhere else. He loves how easy it is to charge, and how the attachments make it easy to get into small spaces with it.
I like this dremel- its a tad bigger than my other one but its very light in comparison. The transition between speeds is also extremely smooth: all around user friendly gadget here!!
The Dremel 8100 is a great, multipurpose cordless rotary for everyday household use. It's not restricted by a cord, so you can bring it anywhere without having to be worried about plugging into a nearby outlet. I recently used the Dremel to whittle down some screws that were rusted into my ceiling, which I could not have accomplished easily with a corded tool. I received this product at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review.”
Cordless Dremel Rotary tool was shipped promptly. Following the instructions I charged the battery first. The slide switch seems a little loose, but works adequately. It is a little heavier and bulkier than I expected, but it does have an 8V battery. Not a much torque as my 395 corded one. Still works for what I use it for, nails mainly. If I did it again, Im thinking the4.8 volt might be better.
Great tool for numerous small jobs. Even though this kit only had 8 accessories, I bought an accessory pack with 52 pieces for another $12. There was one major problem. The description for the tool kit indicated that it comes with a case. There was no case and the box was too small to have ever had a case. Therefore, Walmart owes me a case or a rebate.
I have have this one and the mini. This one is not quite as big and heavy as my Millwaukee roatery tool It is thick where you hold it and I don't care for it. If you have Millwaukee 12 volt tools buy the tool only but this one is half the price and will work just fine. I love the mini because it is small and easy to use for small detailed things. Ilike th smaller one the best. I have 3 Dremmel corded ones and one I have had for over 50 years and it is working great. Hope this helps. Depending on what you do. The battery is removable on this model. That can be a plus.
