This basic unit works well for the polishing I primarily use a Dremel for. It charges fast and seems to hold the charge for a good amount of time. I have higher voltage and power units for cutting and grinding, but the variable RPM on this model gives the user more capability than some lower price alternatives. Walmart pricing was great vs competition.
Small and cordless makes for easy maneuvering in tight places. Excellent run time on the battery life. Comes with several usefully bits. 100% would recommend to pros and newcomers to engraving! All in all an excellent product for the right price.
Long time fan of Dremel tools. Needed cordless and have been very satisfied with this model. Only suggestions are for more power and compact design (easier for smaller hands)
This item is handy on the farm where I am quite far from a power source. The Dremel brand was only a few dollars more than a generic brand which had a factory defect and had to be returned. I would definitely buy the Dremel brand again.
I love this little one because it is not heavy and is great for small work. I have the larger one with removable battery which is lighter than my Millwaukee 12 Volt rotary tool. They are all good. It just depends on what you are doing and the size of your hands. I would go to a stor and hold them in my hand to see which one feels best for you. That way you will not shake and you will have more control. Hoope this helps. If you do a lot of model making you need different ones.
This is a great little gadget. It does everything it is supposed to do. The only thing that I seen that could've been better or a couple of the attachments. They have a big sander, but not a little sander. The instructions are not really very clear as far as how to apply the attachments. So unless you have used the Dremel before or know someone who uses a Dremel, you could be spending your wheels trying to figure out how to put the attachments in. Other than that, it is great. The power supply lasts a long time, the actual power of the tool is perfect. It has multiple speeds. I would buy it again.
Don't skip the step of fully charging or the product won't perform well. Battery charge doesn't last as long as I would like, but tool is lightweight and gets the job done. Great value.
i use my rotary tool for jewelry purposes. there is not my attachments that can be used. i use the flex shaft a lot but in order to use the flex shaft i have to put dremel in my lap and try not to drop it. there are some attachments but not many. i'm going to keep it because there is some practical uses for it. the cordless feature is nice and it does come in handy. i just ended up finding my old tool so i can hang it on the stand i have.
I have been a user of Dremel products for over 50 years and have gone through at least 4 Dremel grinders. When I received this unit with no plug in unit for recharging I was extremely disappointed. It is hard to understand, when in the instructions it tell you to charge the unit before attempting to use it, there is only a wire to go the plug but no plug. For a company to inconvenience its customers to save a small expense in this manner is hardly understandable for me. After buying a plug at the local hardware I noticed it takes an long time to charge. I had already taken the precaution to order an extra battery that I could put in to continue a project if the regular battery lost power. That was a mistake because in reading the lengthy instructions it is a major project to simply put in another battery. On the face of it the unit seems a bit underpowered. Overall it was a very disappointing purchase. I would recommend broadly shopping before buying a cordless hand grinder. Even though I am a long time Dremel user if I ever have buy another I will shop other major brands before making a purchase.
awful! Dremel is a horrible brand, this will be my third Dremel for doing dogs nails within 10 months. THAT IS NOT OK. any groomer, Dremel is not the only option.. get a Ryobi! i have spent a small fortune in dremels since i started grooming 10 years ago. they will never get another dollar from me.
