I have a full sized table saw and a few circular saws so I figured that I had everything covered. But there I was putting wood paneling into a shed to use as a small office (working from home isn't awesome) and I pulled the Dremel Ultra Saw out because it's battery powered and it was late in the day and I needed to get things done. I was blown away with how easy it was to cut everything I threw at it. This is a cool little tool and I've used it many times since then. Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.

I've managed to cut everything I've tested with it, wood, plywood, a few tiles, some PVC tubes and a wire shelf unit. I love that it has a case, makes storage much easier. Purchased to assist in the installation of 7 flush wood flooor vents. Very maneuverable, even close to the wall. Ultra clean cut with good visibility to follow trace line. Only recommendation would be to obtain additional battery, so always one charged.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this saw. As a woodworker I have many saws but the Dremel Ultra saw is a favorite. Useful making quick cuts on plywood or hardwood where larger saws do not fit. The motor has plenty of power and because it's cordless I can use anywhere without a cord.

A Great Lightweight Saw! This saw only weighs 4.6 pounds including the battery and blade. It is well designed and constructed with quality materials. The shape of the saw and the distribution of weight makes it easy to hold and control. The area you grip uses a molded plastic that is both a soft and non-slip finish. The motor is powerful and I had no problem cutting 1/2" cement board with it. I also had no difficulties cutting 3/4" copper pipe and 1/4" plywood. I also especially liked the inclusion of a vacuum cleaner port. It worked really well at keeping the worksite clean. Saw depth of cut is only 3/4" so its for cutting smaller items. Also the battery does not last through a lot of cutting, but it only takes 1 hour to charge. See Video.

It works well for many different projects. I like the old attachments that stuck out farther so they were above the guard and I had an idea. They should make one that is above the guard that you can put Velcro sanding pads on. It's a great saw regardless and I'd recommend it.

My very old Dremel cutting tool had seen better days, especially after a worker stripped out the hex bolt holding the blade so, instead of trying to wrench it off, I decided to get a new one. On my search online, the Walmart version of what I wanted came up $20 less than anywhere else so I clicked, read up on it, and make the purchase. What I wasn't aware of until it arrived was that it was a repackaged tool. That's fine, it explains the $20 discount, but it was not made apparent in the listing. Two boxes in the package were empty so I have no clue what might be missing, and the outer brand box was a little worn, but fortunately everything looked sound enough to try the tool to ensure it was working. All's well, the power level was okay, only slightly less than my previous tool, the screw-in control bar worked well, the add-on guide helped in straight cuts with a close enough edge to set it onto, and the blades were all new and in good condition. I gave it only 4 stars since it wasn't made obvious that it was a repackaged product.

I purchased the saw a few weeks ago and it does not work as well as I expected, I have used the saw for cutting thin plywood, about a half inch and it continued to catch up and bind way to easy, short life time on the battery was noted as well, I would suggest getting a second battery and limiting this saw to use on trim only.
