Frey Check is a Standard sewing supply all of us crafters and sewer's use. Since JoAnn's's closed..there are very few places to buy Frey Check. I am working on a big Drapery Project and needed this fast. NO time to go hunting. I ordered 4 packages at the same time....its a big project ! Easy to order, it shipped and arrived fast. None of this " shipped from across the entire country" garbage wally is allowing these days. Frey Check itself is a good product we all use and want and need.
I bought 3 pairs of new pajama pants that were too long as usual, but otherwise a comfy fit. I watched a video about this product and decided to give it a try. I cut the 4 or 5 inch excess from the pant legs and applied the fray check about a half inch from the inside bottom of each pant leg. I didn't use the included fabric guide, and there was more than half left in the small bottle. I have washed them twice and no fraying has occurred beyond where I applied the fray check. I was amazed to find out this has been available for years and Walmart has the best price.
Have used this brand for years. Comes in handy for fraying ribbon or fabric. I have used it on areas of material where it has been ripped or torn to keep it from becoming larger. I have even used it on artificial fraying flowers. It does not wash off once dry and may become hard when applied liberally. My only problems are the nozzle becoming clogged and I misplace it. Push pin or similar helps clear nozzle and may need an air tag for bottle. Fabric applicator, I have not tried, and looks interesting. It's for placing fabric into the guide grooves to help apply the solution evenly. For me, it's a bonus that I might misplace.
I had some rugs that were fraying at the corners so I decided to use this to see if it would help... surprise, surprise it did! I took quite a bit but I'm happy :)
Always use this product for machine embroidery and quilting to keep thread from possibly unraveling. Reliable - always dries completely clear and impervious to gentle ironing.
It's a great product that I've used in the past. Works well. The only complaint is that if you touch the product when it is still wet…which I do to get the extra liquid off when sealing the edges of ribbon…you end up with a bit of product flaking on your fingers. But. It is worth it to have a product that works so well on ribbon.
Works well, easy to apply, dries clear but does change the color of the fabric a little; but I used this on satin.
If your knit clothes or your children's knit clothes have small holes in them you can stop the hole from getting larger with this product. Walmart's price is much lower than the going price. Good job, Walmart.
Used to finish cut edges of fabric, prior to first wash. The applicator was useless. The stench from the fragrance was irritating to my upper respiratory tract. It stank up the whole house. Would only use this product outside and would have to launder the item as soon as the product was dry.
I used to use this years ago when I sewed clothes for my daughter and it was great for clothing and ribbons. I was recently making a skirt for my granddaughter and thought I would use some to help with the fraying of the fabric. I opened it and started using it but the smell was so overwhelming that I had to quit using it. I washed the skirt and it still smells horrible. I don't know what kind of chemicals have been added since I used it last but I definitely won't be using it again.
