Transport chairs w needed options!

KM May 23, 2025

The chairs is as ordered and fine in that fashion. I didn't know enough about what I needed at the time of ordering. I would have liked it to have arms that could be pushed up or down out of the way so you could depart the chair from the side like my wheelchair, as well as locked down of course. Also brakes that “the occupant” can set and take off, again like my wheelchair. I don't know if there are transport chairs or chairs that are more narrow than regular wheelchairs with these options but there certainly needs to be. Would be a popular item as they would go thru smaller bathroom doorways and enable occupants to maneuver in different ways. Manufacturers please consider!

Don't need to be a weight lifter to lift this chai

Janet January 27, 2025

. The chair is exactly as described. I am a 67 year old woman who is 5 feet tall and weighs around 130 pounds. I bought this wheelchair for my 85 year old aunt. The chair is comfortable and easy to operate. It is easy to open and close. I can lift the chair and place it in the trunk of my car without any trouble. I believe that the average person (strength wise)will have no problem with the storing of this chair.

A light weight pleasure.

SriPhi54 December 8, 2016

Bought this for getting weakened family member from porch to auto for appts, outings, etc. I myself have a lift limit. At 19lbs I can easily lift it into the back of my vehicle. The hand brakes on a ramp has created a learning curve, but we're getting there. Folds-up into neat little package. Created a little "garage " for it out of the box it came in. Rolls easy, even over uneven yard surface. Only complaint is that the leg rests fall off at the drop of a hat unless weight of legs/feet are actually in them. Trying to figure out an alternative to the leg rests all together. I would recommend this little transport chair over any traditional wheelchair, unless part of goal is for client to be self propelling. Can work as wheeled walker. Walmart price was much less than through any other on-line source, and certainly FAR less expensive than through medical supply services.

I would highly recommend this transport chair

Dorie H May 30, 2017

We purchased this to be kept in the car. It is sturdy, well built and can be lifted with one hand. The back folds down and it folds flat allowing space for other travel items. I'm thinking of purchasing another one to replace the heavier, bulky one we are using in the home. Our 1st trip out we received a compliment on it. Great light wheelchair

Esther January 10, 2025

This is an excellent wheelchair. It is fairly light in comparison to others so it is easy for my senior dad to take it out of his car for my mom. Assembly is a breeze. You just need to attach the foot rests. The hand brakes are a definite plus. It is great value for your money. It is on the small side which is perfect for my mom. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a wheelchair on a budget. It is not fancy and doesn't have any bells and whistles but it is perfect for my parents and what they need.

Great Lightweight Wheelchair to push

1WallyNickname May 18, 2013

This chair worked well for pushing our 80 yro mom around Fisherman's Wharf! She can still walk & go up & down stairs, but that walking around town wears her out after a block & since her upper body strength really isn't there a wheelchair with 2 large rear wheels that allows the seated person to propel him/herself was not an option - hence getting this light-weight & easy to fold/unflold chair! We need a way to protect her from the sun..that's why an "Excellent" rating wasn't given, but a great chair! Thank you for the no charge shipping also Walmart - you rock!

whatdya mean no wheel lock?!

bestestererdaughter November 11, 2013

we have used this chair for about a month now. I am incredulous that it has no wheel lock! yes, the hand brakes are great! but there is no way to lock them "on" to prevent rollback of the chair as your person gets in or out of the seat for whatever reason. we cirumvented this problem with a strip of velcro and i have to wrap that around tightly as if my hands were holding the brakes on. It works, but is tedious. It would have been so much more effective AND user friendly to also have a foot pedal to lock the wheels with. mom is 87 and can get in and out of the chair, but would benefit from my being in front of her to give her a little pull up stability instead of my having to be behind her holding the brakes on. i would not buy this chair again until this issue is resolved, despite that she finds it comfy and i find it easy to push. i love the hand brakes bc then i dont have to use my body weight to pull back and stop it. it is easy to fold up, but we put another strip of velcro between the handles to hold it shut together to make it a bit easier for me to pick up and get it in and out of the trunk of the car. but i find it ridiculous that a wheelchair doesnt have a wheel lock. that it would arrive and that would be an issue never occurred to me...of course a wheelchair has a wheel lock.....right? um, no - this one does not. if it wasnt such a pain to package and return i would take this back and get something else - bc of this oversight.

The weight limit is good but the chair does not take into consideration that a person 250 lbs or more sits wider than the chair can handle the chair should of been wider to accommodate the person weighting over 250 lbs …other than that we liked the chair I'm returning it because of that issue ..it says 19 inches across the chair seat but my other transport chair was wider that this on but it was 11 years old and needed replacement
