DS1-254 Shallow Subwoofer

Impressive bass in a a small .5 cubic foot box

works great and fits perfectly in stock suburban box, definitely an upgrade in sound quality too with bridging the voice coils too. would buy again if needed

This speaker was recommended for my 2001 Suburban 2500 LT on the internet. This speaker sits low at the rear of the left side of the rear of the vehicle. It may not work in vehicles where the speaker sit high, double check the web for your vehicle to see if it will fit. It fit perfectly in mine. You could drill new mounting holes or use your old screws to attach it to the sub box using the original holes. The old screws hold it on the lip instead of in the speaker mounting holes. If you're picky, drill new holes in the speaker housing and use the original or aftermarket screws. It sounds great with the factory amp. A huge improvement over the original paper cone.

I would say from what I see the design is nice. I like the connections used. I would say that for what I am going to use it for will work well for a narrow space. The box I plan to use will be a long slender shape that I want to put under the seat.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The MB-Quart DS1-254 shallow mount sub driver is a higher quality clean sounding sub. If it's used in a smaller sealed box it's very flat and tight. It's more of a “musical” sound as opposed to a noise maker. The voice coil had a little scratch in it. But it broke In nice and it moves well. Pretty good excursion for a shallow planar driver. I'd recommend it when used in an audiophile type of set up. Rather than the “banger” that passes your house nightly.

Definitely recommend finding a local installer who can hook everything up the right way if you're unable to install everything yourself. Having the experience really matters. I'm happy with how this turned out.

Not good quality sounds worst purchases ever in a subwoofer. Extremely dissatisfied.
