The two rolls of Duck Brand silver Duct Tape came with the purchase of a multi-position hand cart. What can you say ... you can never have enough duct tape on hand!
I rarely use duct tape for duct work, so i cant speak to that. Over the years however, found many things can be temporarily fixed with a couple of sets of vice grips and a good supply of good duct tape. im pretty sure ill have full confidence in using this brand to make things, patch thing, and temporarily repair things. Not a problem seen, to date. Used it on a friends Heat Pump. Used it on a friends oven, both of which were for longer than expected reassemblely as well as required sturdiness during repair, although not for for live testing or operation of of the units, of courses. repaired a couple of shop vacs temporarily, that ill probably never fully rehab. Several well and constantly abused shop vac and grinder vac hoses. Made up a few tools for the shop and grinder vacs. using the tape for sealing and holding of form. and the general run of the mill stuff, including sealing the envelopes for my Federal and State Tax Extension Returns. Again, no complaints to date. im sure ill be reordering long before i allow myself to run out. Not a big fan of late night runs for anything thats not food related.
I always buy DUCK TAPE brand as I consider it the best holding for my purposes. I usually get the 60 yd. length DUCK TAPE that I think is ALL PURPOSE type? I thought Utility Grade sounded just as good and affordable (as I buy several rolls at a time). I don't use for normal household use. Besides the usual packaging applications, I buy as 'medical supplies' to strap around bandages/pads (tip: Super Maxipads make excellent bandages - a LOT MORE absorbent and MUCH cheaper - about 48 or more - than those flimsy thin medical pads/squares - 9 to 12? - that soak through in an hour). Wrap around lymphedema (fluid leaking) leg. Use up the other type quickly as it is, but this DOES NOT ADHERE as well so must use more (less 'sticky'). This version of the tape just not very strong hold as the usual I get. Will not buy this type again.
I always assumed there was one kind of Duct Tape, so I didn't realize this kind is actually not that sticky at all. Had to use it for a DIY dress form, which involves a couple layers of tape, and when I woke up the next day most of the tape was coming apart. So much work with not the right product! So if you're looking for the classic super sticky tape, I suppose this isn't it.
Thin tape would Not buy again. However on the plus side the rolls is 55-yards, so using for light-weight items seems okay.
This tape isn't as strong as some of the off brand kinds I've used in the past as soon as i stick it on something it tends to peel off by itself
I got this duct tape online during the pandemic. First time I used this brand of duct tape. It is not really expensive, but comparing to those I used to get at dollar store, it was a little bit more expensive. However, the quality of the tape was not as good as those I got from dollar store. This duct tape just did not have the sticking power, compared to those no brand name duct tape from dollar store. I was the duct tape as a general purpose tape instead of really attaching to duct. i used it on card board boxes and other stuff. It was especially poor on card board boxes. It also did not tear cleanly by hand. The edge of the tape always left a string.
this tape does not last long on most surface. it was good only to use to tape a box. I used on a few surfaces plastic, aluminum, cardboard and more and within a day it was separating from the surface. I made sure I cleaned areas I tried to use it for. I thought it maybe a old roll of tape but it wasn't. just doesn't stick for long.
What happened to Duct Tape!!! Finished my last of 10 rolls that I bought over a decade ago. Didn't realize that duct tape now has many different grades. Lousy, so-so, medium grade, premium?? and so on. When I bought this tape I was expecting to receive 'Duct Tape'. This tape was thin and barely sticky. Seems like I must now buy the most expensive Duct Tape to get a close replica of the quality of tape made in years past. Quality used to count. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Had to return this tape.
Not good Duck tape. In all my years working with DUCT tape once they came out with this DUCK tape I have found myself being so disappointed. I asked my wife to grab some duct tape when she was ordering other things and she uses this in colors for crafts. I guess it may be good for that but as far as for using for wrapping newspapers, truly using for DUCT WORK and other things of that nature save your money and put it into a more expensive better useful tape. This doesn't even rip or like at times like to stick to any surface.
