We rent and the gaps in some of the doors and windows is concerning. To ensure that no bugs, dust come in nor our air conditioning goes out, I needed something easy to install that would also be easy to remove when we move out. This fit the bill - and the gaps. To ensure it sticks though, make certain you clean the area of use carefully and thoroughly.
Nice price, adheres well to properly prepared door surfaces, close in quality to the high-priced spread - durability beyond a couple of months unknown at this time.
When our sliding glass door frame kinda ‘disjointed', the door didn't quite fit all the way in when closing. I used this to fill that gap, so that it keeps my AC %26 heat in without escaping. It's a good stop-gap (pun intended!) until we figure out our next move. I also used it on the bottom of the front door to fill in that open space. I hate those California earthquakes. I wake up %26 notice something ELSE doesn't fit quite right when it did before. <sigh>
We bought this black foam weatherstripping to pad and insulate a door. The weatherstripping works perfectly and the door fits like a glove. Wanted to complete this task before summer and the heat. I would buy it again.
Look, I'll be honest. I bought this because I have a serious duck problem. Not drafts. Ducks. They kept getting into my garage and I needed a solution. Well, I'm happy to report that after installing this weatherstrip around my door, not a single duck has breached the perimeter. Zero ducks. The foam creates a tight seal that apparently ducks find impenetrable. They just stand outside now, judging me. As a bonus, it also stops cold air from coming in, which I guess is what it's actually for. But let's be real, you're buying Duck Brand because you trust ducks to know about sealing things. It's right there in the name. Would a duck lie to you? No. Ducks are honest. Easy to install, sticks well, and comes with two rolls so you can seal twice as many ducks out of your life. Five stars, would recommend to anyone with a duck situation or, I suppose, a draft situation.
It's not very easy to use and once you've squeezed it to hard ( like ripping off a piece ) it doesn't go back to normal it stays squished! Not very scissor friendly either!
This weather strip is decent. Adhesive could be stickier. When installing this weather strip you'll want to make sure that the surface your applying it to is very clean. And I mean squeaky clean or it ain't gonna stick. Sticks best to metal, glass, etc. Surfaces that are non-porous. Does not stick well to flat painted surfaces. Gloss and semi-gloss painted surfaces it adheres to well. I get about one year out of an application of this weather strip. After that it really needs to be replaced.
One side is sticky adhesive under the peel off paper and the other side isn't. It stretches very easily and makes it so it will get too thin when you try to stuff it in a crack. I've tried it twice and yes it keeps the draft out of the door crack but there has to be a better product to use. Also looks terrible because of how easily is stretches it gets bumpy. Doesn't look good with white window and door trim. You don't need scissors to cut it, you can pull it apart. I will find something else next winter.
I have put weatherstripping on my doors before and duct usually is a good product as far as the tape goes, but this weatherstripping wouldn't stick no matter what I did…. Maybe it was something I was doing wrong, but I don't see how that's possible…. As a matter of fact, right before I did this review, I was looking at it, and it was a waste of money.
Absolutely worthless. Tried to put it around my door and it just fell off. Showed it to my handy-man and he said it was junk and I should have gotten something different. Tried to return it and, even though I had the order number and had just looked it up I was told it wasn't in the system. I settled for a gift card for half the price and when I got home, I looked it up again and the info I provided was absolutely correct. I took a screen shot but not worth the effort as I don't drive.
