Duda Energy Food Grade Sodium Sulfate, 99+% Purity Natural Crystalline Sodium Sulfate, 20 lb bag

I saw a video on YouTube by a regular guy talking about phase change materials. One of his "recipes" uses this brand of sodium sulfate. Long story short, heat it with salt, add something to turn it into a gel, then bag it up. It "freezes" at around 80° F and stays that way for a few hours. I wrap these with cooling towels and I can handle extreme heat, as long as I rewet the towel regularly. It was 108° yesterday and I was outside gardening (in the shade, of course) but not uncomfortable. Amazing!

I used it to make homemade 'cooling packs'. The cooling packs aren't as cold as ice packs but keep their cool longer, I'm very pleased with how my 'kitchen chemistry experiment' turned out. This sodium sulfate dissolved easily and completely in the mix - perfect!

I don't know about the taste but it worked perfectly for what I needed which was a homemade cooling pack.

Seems odd there would be little specks of black throughout the bag for food grade. Since i was not using for food it didn't bother my needs, just unexpected.
