takes a bit to get used to setting trap, but very sturdy.
I have a couple of these traps and no issues with them so far. Has smaller wire around the bait area and green powder coating on the wire. I think I wish the plate the animal steps on was solid vs screen but it has worked. I would not hesitate to order more of them and I likely will. This one has no spring to break or fail like some other traps but if the trap rolls over an animal may figure out how to open the gate Pros and cons
Stronger and better design than other traps. Well built and a great price.
This is well made and the steel is coated to avoid snags and injury. Easy to set up. Easy to clean. Not easy to escape from.
Big, solid, sturdy cage. Easy to use, good for the money. Caught various critters already.
Very easy to set up and strong enough for armadillos. .
We have a major Raccoon problem where we live. I had a cheaper less well built trap, that would catch the critters, but they would almost destroy the closing mechanism. I did some research on YouTube and the Duke type heavy duty trap got good marks. They are very well built, and nothing has been destroyed as of yet. I am batting 100%. Every time I set I catch something...sometimes it's a possum! My first trap allowed them to get to the bait without setting it off, but no way with the Duke trap. They are that good I bought another one. My only complaint and the reason I did not give 5 stars, is the paint is pretty crappy. Very thin and chips off too easily for an outside use item. It was rusting in place after about 2 days with the rain we have had.
Need to wait until an animal is hungry. I could tell the cat didn't trust the trap. Seems like it knew that was something for him. The cat looked at the trap and then looked at me. I finally picked up the cat and put it in the cage and closed the door. Guess a real hungry cat wouldn't be so careful.
Nicely built cage but does have a design flaw. The door has the two sliding o rings to open and close it but when an animal gets inside, the door closes. But they can knock the cage over until its upside down, then the rings slide and they can push to get the door open. Happened twice before I realized what was happening. Now I tie the cage to a tree or something when I set it it out.
Very Cheap Compared To The Last Ones I Have Purchased From You. Smaller Gauge Cage Wire Animals Bend Easily
