Well I buy by the box so yes I like this mix. I am known for my brownies. I do doctor them by using melted butter instead of oil and adding additional hersheys special dark cocoa along with their dark chocolate chips. I have tried other mixes and I just don’t like them as well. Also when I make them I double the recipe and back in a jelly roll pan. Cooks fairly quickly. Can make a batch in less than an hour and be out the door.
These are my favorite box-mix brownies. I found the Duncan Hines dark chocolate fudge brownie mix, to have a little less sugar than other box mixes (I.e. Betty Crocker and Pillsberry). Follow directions on back of the box with the following exceptions: add 1/4 cup chocolate protein powder, replace the vegetable oil with 1/4th cup avocado oil and 1/4 cup of melted coconut oil; this makes a moister richer brownie (and it’s slightly healthier).
I love the fudgy chocolate brownies I miss the packet of Fudgy sauce. They used to have. next best thing.. I don't like these in a small pAN, where they're an inch thick.I like them spread out and thin.. you could do either.. they are consistently good though.I have noticed a price gone up some.. it cooks well even in my toaster oven , though I do just it just a little. i like to keep it in my pantry. For summer treats.. like the fourth of july or a couple of others that have passed recently.. i actually take some of it if it's not all used in freeze it for at the most three months.. so if you're worried about having leftovers , that's my answer for you.. I heated up to thought so I have like fresh warm brownies.. I hope i've helped you with this review... and maybe gave you a little tip
These are 1/2 the cost and just as good as any other brownie mix. Not overly sweet, very nice texture. While sometimes I do doctor them up with a bit of cacao, use olive oil or red wine, they are just fine as is. No need for frosting or glaze. Recommend.
The best brownie mix for any occasion. I use this mix in a 9 x 13 pan and then I layer the Duncan Hines Chewy brownie mix on top. I swirl the mixes together. Bake @ 350 degrees. It's a double layer, moist, chewy delicious brownies. My family loves it!!
I love these brownies; my friends %26 family love them also. I bake them in one of those special brownie pans which precuts them while they bake. They come out perfect every time. The rich chocolate flavor of them is delicious and the texture is perfect.
The go-to for visiting grandkids who want to make a treat and grandmas who are teaching them to clean up after themselves! Very chewy, chocolatey and easy to make. Yummy! Teaches measurement, timing, process sequence and responsibility --- yes, grandma is a retired teacher!
My husband likes fudgy and I like dark chocolate... And my Auntie always said that Duncan Hines was the best store bought... She's never wrong. Plus, the price is usually better than the other name brand brownie mixed.. go figure! Sometimes I add a cheapy value pack , (much less mix, around $1) for a little more fudge and batter... My Pyrex is large... Makes the perfect size brownies, even after more than one grande spoon licks! 😉Enjoy (plus add a pinch of sea salt, and two egg yolks, instead of one full egg for the extra pack of no name mix). Add homemade cream cheese frosting, if you're really down for a serious cheat!
I’ve bought this twice now, and made the mistake of following the instructions the first time. WAYYYY too oily, oh my gosh. This time, used 1/3 cup oil- much better. Pretty dense brownie, but not particularly chocolately. Not bad overall.
I think its okay value for the money. i dont taste a rich fudge taste otherwise i would give 4 star rating. Its not the worst i have had. the texture is good. i make it in a 8×8 pan for a thicker brownie. If i had chocolate chips i would have added for a richer taste.
