Many ( too many) brands of yellow cake mix have been used to make this classic recipe of rum cake. This is the best one, the rich flavor blends well with the sweetness of the cake. Baked very well and holds up to the soaking of the sugared rum. Priced comparable to other similar brands.

A very good basic butter cake, try substituting 5 large eggs instead of the one cup of water. Yes, that's a lot of cholesterol, but it's also a whole lot of protein. I recommend this butter cake mix.

Great Cake Mix for ANY type of cake I make! I usually ONLY Duncan Hines ….the reason being….They are So much better than any other cake mixes and reasonably priced !

Betty Crocker can’t come close! Mama taught me to always use Duncan Hines butter mix and it is by far the richest, most delectable cake you can produce from a box. You can even elevate this boxed cake mix further by slightly modifying the ingredients. Swap water out for milk, use an additional egg or duck’s eggs, and of course, real butter.

I like Duncan Hines brand the best because the cakes come out very moist and the DH icing spreads easily onto the cakes I bake %26 it’s tastes good!

Duncan Hines is the best brand of cake mix in my opinion. You can do so much with these mixes without having them fail.

This cake mix use to be so moist and delicious but it doesn’t taste the same anymore.Butter golden cake mix was my number one go to cake mix. The original recipe was perfect. I hope the company will change it back. I won’t purchase this new cake mix again.

Too little mix in the box for a 9x13" pan and tasteless. Duncan Hines should recall every box and start over. I'm willing to bet they eventually discontinue it instead of making it a better product, which would mean returing to the original cake mix.

I buy cake mixes all the time (and have baked cakes from scratch) - I have never had worse results with a cake mix. In case it was my fault the first time, I tried again being even more careful. I don't know if the instructions are wrong or what but the cake didn't rise properly and the taste wasn't good both times. We wound up throwing out the finished cakes both times which is highly unusual for us.
