Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix, 15.25 oz.

Only cake mix I could find with no artificial additives. I used melted butter and water but added some heavy cream and chobani vanilla greek yogurt. Also added milk chocolate chips. Had to bake extra long due to the added moisture but the cupcakes turned out amazing!

Moist, very chocolatey , its what we all grew up on, holds up well to decorating, one box makes one 8 round

I LOVE the dark chocolate flavor and look of this cake mix. I made a really nice Bundt cake recipe with this. Such dark chocolate deliciousness! The look of the cake was great. I would recommend.

I only wish I had more of these chocolate cake mixes by Duncan Hines which is what my mom used. So I essentially have eaten this brand of cake mix for 50 years. My mom always made Duncan Hines her top pick for Sunday dinner and it certainly was a winner in NY family of 6. Now I know I am going to be cooking this brand. The flavors you are about is scrumptious and who doesn't love butter and the mixture with the chocolate mix is creamy blends perfect. There is spices coming up in the carrot 🥕 cake and other flavors since it is Fall in North Carolina. I would be amiss if I forgot to mention the glorious Frostings that are available to cream on the cakes by Duncan Hines. I add some pecans or walnuts for that umph I love with the Duncan Hines cake mixes and Frostings. Duncan Hines has been around for a long time and I have to say it will be around for years to come.

I did not bake this into the box recipe cake, so I can only speak to how I used it. Into a 9x9 pan pour one bag frozen dark cherries. Mix in a few walnuts. SprInkle 1/2 box of the mix, covering all the cherries. Spoon 1 stick melted unsalted butter, totally covering the mix. Bake 40 minutes at 325° The cake mix tur ns into the fudgiest, thickest almost brownie like cake.! Slice a square, and flip over on the plate, so cherries are on the top. I give this mix a 5 prepared this way!

The dark chocolate fudge cake mix and the dark chocolate fudge brownie mix boxes look a lot alike. I ended up with 5 brownies and 3 cakes. They are both great, but the brownie doesn't work as a cake.

I researched the best chocolate cake mix and this was at the top of many reviews. I was not that impressed with it. It seemed ... not very rich. I will try another brand next time.

I don't know what changed with this cake mix but this was dry and flavorless. Won't buy this brand again.
