Excellent Movie. The new Dune might be modern and have CGI in it but it is not as good as the original DUNE. This is a classic before all of the CGI added stuff. The storyline is told better and the acting is better. The suspense is also handled exceptionally well. This original DUNE makes you want to jump into the movie and help out! It is DUNE, what else can you say!

Always got my orders in a timely manner and not in bad shape

Although it lacks the book's accuracy, the music is great and the different story twist is unique.

I doubt most young people will like this as its a long and slow movie that surprisingly follows the classic novel as much as it can in the time permitted. I, for one, a boomer, have fond empties of this movie. Good stuff. Great effects for the time period.

this movie is very cool. I saw it back in 1984. the special effects are stiil very cool today. but i do like the special longer version. Im into director's cuts. But David lynch version still is awesome. the singer Sting from the Police is good. I would say it's worth having in your collection.

I have seen the full extended version and the shorter release. Wish I had the full extended release version.

This old 1984 version of Dune rushed through much of the plot, glossing over the details. It is those details that make Dune a deep and thrilling sci-fi novel, so the movie misses a key element. It has stunning imagery and artistry, but the special effects are really lacking. Someone who has not read the novel will be left uninspired, and those who have will note too many simplifications of the plot line.
