Dupli-Color Paint DAP1690 Dupli-Color Self Etching Primer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far even with the first coat, it looks wonderful. Can't wait to see what the finals product is going to look like after we redo this entire race, track, and change all the orange into green. This is such a phenomenal independent project that I can do by myself the maximum adhesion and corrosion and resistance is gonna be wonderful, especially with standing this Arizona heat.

Excellent base primer to improve adhesion. Purchased for repainting wheels before laying down wheel paint and duplicator matte clear.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was given this to review but did not have any current projects that required this color so I bought a small aluminum sheet to test it on. I followed the instructions on the can - sanded the surface with fine grit sand paper and wiped it off after. I let it dry for 30 minutes and even after spraying a thick coat I was very surprised to see that it was completely dry and adherent. The surface was smooth and looked great honestly. I am by no means a painter but this was very user friendly and forgiving. Would definitely use this brand and product again in the future!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sometimes, when I want to refresh a tool or part of house, I prefer to use spray paint. This spray paint works as a primer and a paint. I expected the color to be a gray-green shade, but mine arrived in brown, so I had to change my original plans for using it. I decided to test the paint on a old part first. It is easy and quick to apply and goes on evenly when sprayed from about 15cm away. The paint dryes quickly and holds very well. I recommend this product. It is good quality and works great. The most important things is to do a test spray before applying in to you project to avoid paint runs. If you do that, you can get a great result.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Duplicolor self etching primer works amazing for all kinds of projects! I tested it out on some metal tubing I had before using it on my automotive part and even on a surface that hasn't been sanded it sprays evenly and coats the surface well. It is great as a primer for metal parts and sticks very well to metal surfaces, preparing them for paint and top coat. I will be using it on my front bumper soon as part of my project car work. The color is neutral green and is easily covered by other paint colors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this primer for a little over a month, waiting for a project to use it on. So far used on 2 metal lamps, and pvc plastic, as well as wood. Not all of my projects are metal, but the primer covers well, and is very smooth as far as finish. Use in a very well ventilated area, very strong solvent smell.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've personally never used a self etching paint before. I'll be honest, im not 100% sure if used it right. So to start off, this was a really easy to use paint, make sure surface is dry and clean the application was pretty straight forward, spray and shake. The paint covers well, dries fast, a d has an almost dry consistency. It goes on, and doesn't move, no dripping or running. The durability seems pretty decent, but as I've only used it on plastics, I may not have the best or most accurate understanding of it. I look forward to using this type of paint in the future. 7-8/10 im going to experiment more, but i would definitely buy this again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using Dupli-Color products for over 20 years. The smooth and easy to apply coatings are unmatched. I have always used their products for automobile restoration, but I also use it anytime I'm codating or painting metal objects. Today I'm refurbishing an old chair. I took the time to thoroughly prep the surface by sanding away rust and then washing with an anti-grease detergent. The temperature today was 75° outdoors and I had plenty of ventilation. I have learned to apply a light coat at first, and then a heavier coat after about 20 minutes. after about an hour of drying, it's ready for a topcoat. I also choose Dupli-Color paints for all my projects!
