I got my wife this for Christmas. It has been a week now and it has been on more than it has been off. We don't use the heat function just because we don't need it, but the visual representation of a fire is amazing. I bought the fire screen to help “hide” any unrealistic representation of the logs, and together she absolutely loves our fireplace.
i just tried it out. It puts alot of heat out. More then expected. Only thing i didnt like was if heater is facing you the cord is on the right side. i wish the cord was a little longer but after talking to chatgpt, i ordered a one foot heavy duty extension cord rated for 1875
We put his unit in to replace an old gas log set. We like it on low because it stays steady and looks like a real fire. High rolls and almost looks like it is going out every few seconds. The heat is enough to warm our living area.
We have a wood burning fireplace, but live in Florida. I love the look of a good fire, but have never been a fan of electric fireplaces. Based on reviews and the video, we decided to take a chance and I'm glad we did. You can tell it's not a real fire, of course, but it's so much nicer than any electric I've ever seen. Adds just the look I was going for. We haven't used the heat yet and yes, there is a little hum when it's on. But I am so happy that we have it! Adds just what I wanted to a previously unused fireplace!
I use this inside my fireplace and looks beautiful- its flattering light flame come up the whole back wall of my standard sized fireplace putting off a radiant True effect. I'm excited to know if I need a heater anywhere inside or in the sunroom all I have to do is pick it up and move to whatever room I desire knowing it doesn't have to go just inside my fireplace cavity
We placed the logs in the fireplace that came with the home. The look is fantastic, homey and mesmerizing (our cat did not know what to think). The only issue I am seeing is I wish there was an electrical outlet inside the fireplace, so we can close the glass doors. My mother owned this home before us and wished she had purchase this years ago.
We have a fireplace in our rental that is non-functional - but is really the central focus of the living room - This log insert by Duraflame offers heat and ambience to the room Duraflame is a recognixed brand and Walmart got it to us in time for Chirstmas Decorating The remote control easy Assembly was a breeze I am looking forward to adding some crackle
This is so nice. Yes it is a souped up heater, however it is very beautiful to look at. We put it in our fireplace which we don't use because of the mess a log fire makes and we don't have gas. Its really nice behind a screen and then looks even more realistic. I would absolutely recommend this.
While our home of 30 years has a lovely fireplace, we rarely used it. In northern Virginia there are only a few days that we need a fireplace for heat, and with an asthmatic child it was not a good idea, but I love the ambience of a fire. With this electric fire I can enjoy a realistic fire without the heat, smell and smoke but know that we can also use it as a heat source if needed. I am pleasantly surprised by how genuine the fire looks, but can just turn it off and not deal with cleanup.
We set it in our existing fireplace (yes, the fireplace works - too much work, messy, eventually sucks all the heat out the flew anyway...). We closed the damper and my husband devised a "removable" barrier to keep the heat from escaping. It actually looks very nice. The flames, etc. are pretty. The fan works best on low. Tried it on high a couple of times but it seems to blow out only cool air. BUT, the low setting with the thermostat set at about 3/4 keeps our family room nice and toasty. We like it!
