Takes a bit of time to use compared to PoP Eeze, but when hooked up to a good shop-vac it performs well to catch dust and debris! So much better then trying to clean up a dusty house afterwords. Glad I found this tool.
worked as advertised good product
Very good quality, could be better if hose attachment could extend. S
Anything I see something like this that doesn't have a disclaimer in the description I cringe. Not all popcorn ceilings are safe to remove with this scraper. There are a lot of popcorn ceilings that contain asbestos. If you don't know for sure have your ceiling tested before attempting to chip away at it on your own. If you know for sure that you don't have asbestos then Yes this is a good product to use. If you have asbestos I recommend getting a professional involved.
I've seen this product advertised several times, and it baffles me how careless the sellers can be about people's health. Removing popcorn ceilings is not a DIY project when the texture has been created with asbestos. Yes, not all popcorn ceilings contain asbestos fibers, but a good percentage do. Therefore, offering a $40 product as the holly grail is just a great way to get people started on a project that could have horrible repercussions for the rest of their lives. Selling the product isn't an issue, but the ethics behind it are highly questionable. What about you call it ChipBuddie For ASBESTOS FREE popcorn ceilings? Or what about a large and prominent line reading: TEST YOUR CEILING FOR ASBESTOS BEFORE BUYING? I've seen a handful of posts from people that had no idea about asbestos and mesothelioma and jumped on what they thought was a "safe, dustless" project. Educating the general public on potential risks involved with construction and remodeling projects is part of business ethics. A product that is intended to scrap popcorn ceilings should be aware of this.
OMG! How is it possible that Walmart is selling this piece of junk without a disclaimer!!! Asbestos popcorn ceilings were installed all over the US for decades. This DIY project could turn into a nightmare for hundreds of people. Asbestos is not a joke, and even though I've heard plenty of stories of friends being exposed to this type of stuff, that doesn't mean is safe.
