DYMO LabelWriter 5XL Printer, Automatic Label Recognition, Prints Extra-Wide Shipping Labels (UPS, FedEx, USPS), Perfect for eCommerce Sellers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use it constantly for my work, i have lent it to my family members and everything is perfect, i would use it a thousand times and i would highly recommend it to anyone who needs it.

Easy set up and install.

I've been using this unit for about 6 years and am still loving that it is so easy to print to it. Several features that have been beneficial: 1) Printing file folder labels on the spot instead of making a list and then printing; 2) Printing hanging file folder tabs that show the label on both sides of the tab; 3) Printing multiple copies of the same label from a single label rather than copying and pasting to each cell in a full sheet of paper; and 4) Placing a rubber band around the roll of single labels, dropping in my purse or computer bag and heading out with them for future use and not having to fuss with or try to protect the corners of 8.5 x 11 sheets of labels. This particular unit has two label options, so it's easy to print file folders then hanging tabs in a couple of easy steps without having to change label types in the printer.

Great as expected. This was to replace a unit that the operating system on my Mac dropped support.

OEM Dymo Labels are the only option for this printer. They only come in white, and our business needs orange labels. The 4XL was a perfect fit for us, but it broke. We had to return this as it was unusable in our situation. If you're going to take the route of greed and not let us use labels without your RFID Tag, at least give your customers options to fit their needs.

I bought this today and converted from a 450 to the 5XL. The rolls I had laying around from that one will not work on the 5XL or apparently with any 5 Series. The 5 Series only works with the new RFID marked rolls and will lock you out from printing on your older rolls.

Very unhappy you can only use Dymo labels. They are using a chip in every roll of labels. Printer will not work without the chip hidden inside the cardboard tube.

Absolutely will not accept having a product like this and only buying labels from the manufacture. I'll buy a 450XL now but that will be the last Dymo I purchase. Ditch the Label Lock-In.. The function of the product is excellent so you will get 5 stars on the rest of the review. Just vexed by labels 10x the price.

I recently purchased this 5XL printer, to add to my arsenal of 4XL printers, that are no longer available in the line up. When printing postage, say using Stamps.com, the printer is set up wrong, and the programs don't even know you're trying to print to roll labels. In the Dymo Connect Program is shows the labels as being 4" long x 6" wide. Can't print anything, as it won't allow me to change it to the proper dimensions.

This printer works about 10% of the time. The rest of the time is spent troubleshooting. The printer has trouble recognizing it's own labels and will lead to you trying the same thing over and over and over and over with customer service to no avail. Strange that a printer company would create a printer that only has one job, to print, and then design it so that it doesn't do that one thing. I am using a MacBook Pro. Bought it for shipping label printing. Followed all the instructions to a T. Still no joy. Save yourself the time and buy a different brand.
