This is a minimalist ceiling light. It is essentially a large flat LED lightbulb without a socket. So, if the light malfunctions or burns out the only real solution is to uninstall it, throw out the whole light fixture and replace it. Though this is less than ideal, the lamp is priced low enough that making it disposable is financially practical. Hopefully, it will last more than a few years, to justify the installation effort. My first impressions after opening the box is that the lamp seemed quite flimsy. However, once installed, it looks like a more substantial lighting fixture. The brushed metal band classes it up quite a bit and, so it doesn't seem quite as cheap looking. It also sits a couple of inches below the ceiling, so not quite as flush as I had imagined, which helps to make the light seem more substantial. I was surprised to see the amount of light that this lamp generates with only 16W or power. It is dimmable through an external dimmer switch. But no way to turn down the brightness directly. The adjustable color temperature setting does help to reduce perceived intensity and means that you don't need to guess what version of white color bulb to purchase in advance. It is extremely easy to adjust the color temperature after the light is installed.
