Dyson AM09 Hot + Cool Fan Heater

I named my son Dorian. He does what it says on the tin. Blows air, hot, cold. I like the numbers. I really like the numbers. When I switch him on, the numbers are high, then they go down. That's good right? Perfectly cromulent little fella.

I bought this last year and it has been the best thing ever! It's my office buddy, I work from home most of the time and it doesn't matter if the weather is hot or cold this Dyson purifying fan/heater keeps me very comfortable. The remote is very handy especially when I'm in meetings with headphones on. I love it and couldn't recommend it more highly 5 stars 🌟

We've had this unit for a few months now and have used the heater and cooling fan both at home and in a caravan. When it arrived my initial thoughts were that it was too small for our large space and wouldn't be sufficient. It surprised me greatly with its effectiveness and I've since recommended it to others, one of whom also purchased one. It's great to move around the house as needed. We use it to take the chill off a bathroom or in the lounge of an evening. It'll get even more use to cool the home here in Queensland. Both modes work extremely well with a bonus of being safe when pets or young children are around. It's very neat, compact and packs a punch. Super easy to wipe down too, no dusty fan blades.

I bought an extra heater the I moved into a retirement village. A heat pump does a good job in the living areas but the bedrooms missed out somewhat and the heater was just what I needed to boost the heat there in winter. I have also used the cooling fan occasionally and am very happy with its quiet performance. The design makes it easy and light-wight to move, an important consideration for an older person.

I bought the Dyson Hot+Cool Jet Focus during a heatwave in Melbourne last summer... it was one of the few fans left in the shop so I spent more than I was planning on. I love it in summer... it is a really good fan... you can set it to the 1 or 2 level and it is quiet and yet very effective for personal calling while sitting at my desk. As for winter though, I find the heater is not as clever as I would expect from Dyson. The fan can be varied but the heat is either high or off (thermostatically controlled)... it would be good if the heater could have one or two power settings.

I bought this product several months ago to take me through a cold winter and hot summer. Whilst I have high ceilings, my room is well within the recommended square footage for use and I wouldn't say it offers any meaningful relief from either the cold nor the heat unless it's very close to you - and then it's very drying and quite loud. In hindsight I would have tried a larger model but wanted something a little more inconspicuous. I don't think I would purchase again (and definitely not at full price) and wouldn't recommend.

The remote control wasn't working properly, so I had to get a replacement. I tried to go through the official replacement process, but it was very bureaucratic, so I decided to buy one from China instead, and it works perfectly.

I don't like the shape of it. My previous version was a circle and I loved it. The thing works but it looks weird.

I'm sorry but I'm disappointed with this fan. Very similar to a Harley Davidson where as it converts energy into noise with very little power. Fan is located 1.5 metres from the foot of the bed and can barely feel the breeze at speed 5 and can barely hear yourself think. Very noisy, little breeze. It's probably our 6th Dyson product in the house and the only one I have regretted purchasing. Achilles heel in the product line up. Sorry......
