This is a great vacuum cleaner I had just the ordinary V8 before this but you can really tell the difference in the suction, as a lady with long hair the hairs iwere always getting entwined in the brush bar but this is brilliant as I haven't got that problem anymore as hairs go straight past, another thing I like is the switch you can turn it off and on and don't have to hold the switch down which is much better. I love this V8 cyclone and highly recommend anyone to buy it as its an excellent product, I have always had a dyson for years now and wouldn't buy anything else
Bought for me as a gift. Only had it for a short time but love it. Easy to manoeuvre especially for anyone who struggles with the older type of vacuum, good suction on carpet and very pleased with its performance. However, very disappointed there was no instruction book, just one sheet with diagrams.
We bought this so I didn't have to take my other hoover upstairs. The Dyson is great very manoeuvrable lightweight and the run times more than enough. It glides over the carpet picking up brilliantly
Sorry guy's it's not as good as our older model (V6 Absolute). Harder to manoeuvre not as easy to empty and clean around collection filter. With the old model i could take out the collection filter and blow it out with blower to rid it of fine dust that had been collected. No instructions as for cleaning top air filter and motor filter came with package. A lot of stuff we do not need was included. The small suction head that came with the unit does not fit into the station on the wall mounted charging station when mounted flat on the wall. Other than that, it seems to have good suction and having 3 levels of power is good. Have not had it long enough to see how the battery last. On using the Dyson machine for about 40 minutes my hand felt sore on the knuckle above my thumb. The photo shows the blister where it rubbed against the top of the hand grip. Granted my hand is larger then my wifes however the hand grip could be much better.
I bought this dyson over two months ago. Firstly there was a fault with it and had to be exchanged. I have now used it one. The result is pretty good, my floor is so clean, but then it had not been vaccumed for a while! It is a great hoover! I am not sure I have ever bought a new hoover but this is a good buy. Expensive for me but seems to be worth it. Its seem not so great for around the corners and edges but having only tried once, its a bit early to tell.
Does not have all the tools that previous models had, eg fabric tool and small flexible extension hose and, tools from previous models do not fit. Therefore, they have to go to landfill!
I bought this to replace a rivals stick vacuum which was simply rubbish…..I am very happy with this Dyson version it is far superior in every way- build quality is much better, it is lighter and more importantly the weight is distributed better. Suction is fantastic and it does not get clogged up with hair like some vacuums do. Overall really impressed, the only reason I did not give it maximum scores is due to the slightly over complex emptying procedure.
This is my second cordless vacuum. Have to say I prefer my previous Dyson cordless. This new one is taller and heavier and I much prefer the ‘trigger' on/off on my previous one.
For the price it feels cheap, tacky, chunky and fragile tbh, although it is by no means cheap. Not a patch on the V7 we also have which is a sturdy machine. They obviously cut manufacturing costs on the V8. I could just not recommend it when there are cheaper and more robust machines out there. The buttons instead of a trigger is a major pain, now it's a two handed machine to start as the buttons on the top are nowhere near where your fingers are tbh. Suction is fine but on max mode it doesn't last at all, so I'd never use it in that mode either. Maybe it's a matter of getting used to it, maybe time will tell, but I doubt it.
Disappointed, comparing it to an older model it replaced. Suction is good but only on max setting the low setting is pointless and defaults to this every time you use it. My hand does not even fit in the holder it's so small. Button on top to turn it on rather than a trigger is backwards. And the worst bit is trying to unload, very fiddly, flimsy, pain in the bum feels like it's going to snap as it jams. If it lasts half the time of the old one I will be amazed!
