used in a plastic 55 gal barrel, works great. be sure to think about location of spigot before drilling the hole. BE CAREFUL WHEN DRILLING THE HOLES! if the drill bit wanders(check hole saw that it is tight) the hole may be slightly larger than intended and the rubber bushing will not fit properly and water may leak or spigot may pop out.

The kit had all of the necessary parts to adapt a barrel for rain water collection from a gutter down spout. Instructions were good and easy to follow. I had to buy an additional faucet and plastic pipe in order to link it to a second collection barrel. It works well.

I am able to buy 55 gallon plastic barrels locally for $10. I ordered this kit to take those barrels and convert them to rain barrels to use to water my gardens. Installation was a breeze, took less than an hour. The fittings are water tight. The instructions are adequate. The result is that I have a $125+ rain barrel for less than $50 and free water. A tip for anyone considering this project: be sure you elevate your rain barrel at least 2 feet, the higher the better. The water flow from a rain barrel is not strong enough to run a sprinkler but it does work very well with a soaker hose.

It was easy to install this great kit. Everything I needed was included. Good instructions. With the first rain it filled our 64 gallon drum in no time.

I have 2 water barrels and this kit did the trick for both! All you need is a drill and a screwdriver, or a neighbor who can drill a hole. The person that wrote the "bad" review apparently didnt have either! My downspouts are 2x3. My barrels fill in about 10 minutes in a good rain. One is 65 gallons and the other 45.

Love how easy it is to install. I have 3 on different downspouts and collect lots of rainwater. Moneysaver and environmentally beneficial.

This kit would be perfect if the spigot was brass and secured from the inside rather than screw into the rubber insert. It is much to easy to knock the spigot out of the barrel especially around livestock. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
